Does anyone know if these blocks work without bolting to the garage floor? Thanks

Yes, they work fine. We have two of them in the garage for over six months. They are not bolted to the floor and they don't seem to have moved. Of course, when you are bringing the car into the garage, you are going so slow that you are unlikely to push them away unless the floor is very slippery. We had the floor painted before we bought these and have not had any problem with them.

What is the distance between the holes for the bolts?

Exactly 12” from center to each hole.
