NOTHING TO DISLIKE. WORKS WELL. PLENTY OF ILLUMINATION. EASY PUSH BUTTON ON/OFF. JUST A LITTLE BIT HEAVY, BUT VERY LIVABLE.

Initially I posted that this did not work. While the batteries I was using were brand new Duracell, upon further examination they were expired. Bought new up to date Duracell batteries and this works fine.

Came broken my husband is not able to open it to put new D batteries in it so we're going to have to take it back

Very happy with this item, and bought it from Brookstone a few years ago. This is my 3rd year/4th grilling season with this light. Have changed the batteries only once, and that was this season. It does what it's supposed to. I use it on a Weber Genesis Platinum grill, which gets plenty hot, and nothing has melted. One recommendation - apply a good grease to the mounting nut assembly. This will rust in a few weeks, and make removal difficult. Otherwise, it just sits there, ready for your nocturnal grilling.

DON'T buy this grill light unless you NEVER, EVER use the grill with the grill cover down, and forget to remove the grill light beforehand. Why? Because when the grill is on the polycarbonite light cover MELTS and becomes opaque, so no light gets through. The only reference to this altogether-foreseeable deficiency is in a little 'note' on p 5 of the manual: It says: "Do not place the unit within two feet of the exposed cooking surface. The excess heat may cause the unit to overheat, malfunction or melt."With the grill cover down, the "cooking surface" is NOT "exposed", so I did not think it would be necessary to remove the grill light. Wrong! The plastic light cover melted completely, making the unit useless. And because this was a gift I did not have a purchase receipt, nor could I prove I'd had it for less than a year, so Brookstone said it could not honor the warranty with a refund. (In MA we have the legal concept of an Implied Warranty of Merchandisability -- which would certainly pertain to a BBQ light that doesn't work if you use it i a natural way -- but I don't have the time or energy to pursue Brookstone in MA Small Claims Court. However, I will NEVER purchase anything from Brookstone again )

I dont know what all the bad reviews are about. I've had this same light for 10 years and no problems! Stays on my grill 24/7/365. Only drawback which is a blessing and a curse is that its bulky. It takes 4 D batteries. Otherwise, you might be wondering why I'm here. It so happens that this light finally broke on me... after 10 YEARS! A little plastic tab that helps keep the batteries in the compartment broke.

Super for night grilling.... Take on and off the grill with a twist of the knob. NOT meant to be left in the elements! Enjoy :) (could hold to round handles a bit better, but works quite well)

Within the first six months this product began to grow black mold in the area where the LED bulbs were housed. You could see it under the clear plastic cover. Eventually the mold obscured the light and then it just failed to work. So the product lasted less than two years.
