This drill bit performed exactly how I hoped it would on dense tile. Mounted on an angle grinder, it stayed stable throughout the cut with very little vibration or wandering. Starting at a slight angle made positioning easy, and once vertical, it cut smoothly without grabbing. The diamond coating looks evenly applied and dense, which shows in real use. Cutting speed was consistent, and the bit didn't feel like it was struggling even on harder materials. With steady water cooling, it stayed cool and maintained good cutting efficiency. The hole edges came out clean with minimal chipping, which is especially important for visible tile work. Build quality is solid. The steel body feels sturdy, threads cleanly onto the grinder, and stays secure during use. The working depth was sufficient for tile and stone applications, and control felt predictable the entire time. I bought this 35 mm diamond core bit for porcelain tile and it was a headache from the first hole. Even with steady water cooling, the bit overheated quickly, glazed over, and started skating on the surface. Cutting speed dropped to a crawl after a single hole and the rim lost grit unevenly, which introduced wobble. The result was chipped glaze and an out-of-round cut that needed a lot of cleanup with a grinding stone. The 5/8"-11 thread technically fits an angle grinder, but the concentricity felt off. There was noticeable runout that only got worse as the diamonds wore. If you are drilling hard materials like porcelain or marble, this is a false economy. You might get one acceptable hole if you baby it, but longevity and consistency are not there. Spend a bit more for a bit with better diamond bonding and a straighter barrel

I do a lot of work with rocks. Actual rocks - the big, heavy ones all around our yard. I make sinks, bird baths, fountains and such out of them and I go through coring bits like nobody's business, so I'm always on the lookout for a great bang for the buck. This one caught my eye and, well, it's got some great things about it and a few areas for improvement. The overall build quality is excellent - thick and heavy. Many I've used were much thinner and end up actually bending during the tough jobs. No worries about that here. It cuts quite nicely overall - not especially faster or slower than others I've used, but about what you'd expect. Keeping it wet when drilling seemed to help and the bit itself will last longer. The only thing I wish it had was more diamond cutting material surface along the sides. I find this helps smooth out the hole and there's less 'chatter'. That was the only reason for the 1 star penalty. I'm not even sure I should have dinged it for that, but still believe it's a fair assessment.

These code drills have variations in the diamond coatings between different brands, and this one has a good quality coating with a nice density of diamonds. It also sparkles quite a bit in the light. Cutting is fast and smooth. Overall this is one of the better quality diamond core drills.

This green bit definitely feels much more approachable! I found this one far easier to handle, partly because the 20mm size is less intimidating and partly because of the way it's designed. The product: A 20mm (25/32") diamond core drill bit with a 5/8"-11 thread specifically designed for angle grinders. My experience: I actually tested this alongside a larger older one I have, and I have to say, I found this much easier to use. The smaller 20mm diameter makes it far more manageable when you're trying to get that initial "bite" into the material. I was also really impressed by the texture of this one—it has a lot of "grit" to it, which I think seems to help it grab the surface more effectively? Since this is designed for an angle grinder rather than a standard drill, it feels very stable once it’s locked on. Just like the others, keeping it cool with water is the secret to making it last! I also think the angle grinder is going to win in this situation! The deal breaker: The aggressive diamond grit. It feels like it wants to work through the tile rather than just skating over the top of it, which gives you much more confidence during the cut. Good quality solid build

Good 1 inch core bit. It is well coated with industrial diamonds. You will need a 5/8-11 male threaded tool to use this core bit. I think all grinders have that size thread so you can use it on a grinder. However I use it with a drill adapter with a 5/8-11 male thread. I feel I have more control using a drill with this core bit cutter than using a grinder. It cuts very well, but there are 2 things you must remember when using these types of cutters. 1 ... Keep the diamond coating cool at all times by dipping it into some cool water frequently ... Like every 5 seconds or so, or you will burn it out on the first hole. The second thing to remember is because there is no pilot bit attached to this type of cutter. You need to start off preferably slow and on an angle so the bit bites into the tile then you can slowly straighten the bit out to get an indentation all around. Then you can put some pressure on it to cut right through the tile. I have used this diamond core drill bit on porcelain tile, ceramic, marble and faux marble with no issues. I have cut about 7 holes so far and it is still cutting well. I am happy with this core bit. Oh and it comes in a plastic case to keep it safe. Win win.
