Olivia told him over and over that if people found out they were having sex (he was her boss), it would destroy her career. But he just would not listen -- he kept pursuing her, and didn't seem to care about the consequences she would face. She also told him she wanted to build her career on her own, without help, but he didn't listen then either. I had my problems with Olivia too, though. She kept telling Cole they shouldn't sleep together -- but she just could not resist him. So she was partly to blame, since he never forced her. It always bothers me when romance authors write about intelligent, successful women -- who suddenly become idiots as soon as a handsome man kisses them. If a woman was as smart as Olivia was supposed to be, she would have been able to resist Cole.
