My Changing Body

A really good book to help you explain these issues to you daughter(s).

Presents the changes in a female body from about age 8 to the end of puberty, in easy to read yet accurate language. My daughter thought some of the information was unsettling at first, but when I said she could skip over anything that she didn't want to read about, or ask questions, she did both, but continued reading. Respects the reader and gives information on sexual activities, consequences, and a bit on LGBT aspects.

This book should present all these informacion in a less scary way a It seems that this book had been written for a high school kid and not for 9 + year old girl.

That was insane to read. Maybe when my daughter is like 16. It talks about anal sex. That's just really weird to have in a young child's book

My daughter's School counselor recommended this book for my 9yr old 3rd grader. After reading these reviews I don't think I'll be buying this one. I'm frightened!

This book indicates on the cover that is for "girls on the verge of change"; however, it includes explicit adult topics such as sex, mutual masturbation, orgasm, adultery, nocturnal emissions (for boys!), sexually stimulating a partner, oral intercourse and all forms of sexuality. This book is NOT for young girls wanting to learn about their own changing bodies. I found the subject matter to be grossly inappropriate for "girls" and not indicative of what the title/book cover portrays. VERY DISAPPOINTING!!! I would recommend books for younger girls such as The Care of Keeping Your Body: The Body Book for Younger Girls by Schaefer or Girls Life Head-To-Toe Guide by Bokram.

My daughter's friend lent her this book. I looked through it yesterday and could not believe it. She is 10 and this is the excellent book to create a perv (now I know why her friend says many disturbing sexual things little girls should not be saying). It even goes over oral sex, masturbation, different types of sex, many types of birth control, details about the outer anatomy of the reproductive system. I do not recommend this book for anyone unless they are at least 17. Why would you want your little girl exposed to these things, perhaps there should be an age included on the cover or something to make us aware, or you could use it as a reference when talking with her but absolutely not having her read it.

Explains how a boys body will change in a friendly and fun way, that removes the fear of what will come. Well written, my son and I read it together and the book lends itself to natural pauses to discuss what we'd read. Highly recommended.

This book is not at all acceptable for an 8 year old, i am so glad i looked at this first before giving it to her, what 8 year old wants to read about anal sex and incest. Shocking I wanted her to start understanding her "changing body" not read that sex is the most important part of a relationship!

This book is very american (uses terms such as douche which are not commonly used in the UK) and although some sections are very good, I didn't want to give my 11 year old daughter a book with a section on anal sex. Looks from the cover like it is meant for younger girls but I don't feel this is the case.
