Review: Works Ok But Get the Longer Version - This Swing-A-Way design has never failed to open a jar for me. It even worked on wide mouth jars with frozen-on lids. However, the claws are little small, hard to set on some lids, and occasionally slip off. You first have to set the lever handle into the right hole along the bar which takes some study and time. It doesn't just fall into place. Then, you have to hold the level down very tightly and turn. You do need some degree of strength to operate this thing. I have large hands and wish the lever handle was an inch or so longer. After I purchased this, I found out that this brand makes a larger 8.8" version, but the lever handle on that one seems to be about the same length. It allows you to open even larger jars like you'd find in a commercial kitchen. For my home use, the 7.5" is ok for most jars, but I'd much prefer the longer 8.8" version for extra leverage. I do like the rubber on the handle which makes it more comfortable to grip. Overall, it works well, but a couple of updates would make it even better.
