Don't be put off by the title
I was inspired to explore the world of the Young Avengers when I read the Civil War, which they were a large part of. This book is written from the perspective of Billy Kaplan (Wiccan) as he sets out to find the Scarlet Witch, who he believes to be his mother. It's a beautifully drawn graphic novel with lovable characters and a fantastic storyline. Don't be put off by the title, Children's Crusade. This is a brilliant book that deals with lots of mature issues and there are several sad moments that will leave you either loving or hating the writers. It arrived on time and in a protective laminate sleeve which I liked. I managed to finish it in one night, but I am a bit of a binge reader. Overall, this is probably my favourite Young Avengers graphic novel that I've purchased.

The Scarlet Witch has always been my favourite Marvel character
This book was at the top of my wants list. The Scarlet Witch has always been my favourite Marvel character...and boy was I not happy what Marvel did to her in the first Avengers run. That was one of the main reasons I stopped buying comics. Yet when I heard she was back in the Children's Crusade I had to get it and it was worth it. The artwork is stunning and the story fwell written. There are some amusing moments, especially what Wanda says to Emma when the White Queen tries to take Wiccan and Speed and Hawkeye's reaction when he finds out he had slept with a robot not the real Wanda.. It was good to see a lot of loose ends were tied up and that the Scarlet Witch had been intergrated back into the Marvel universe.

The plot is bonkers but the art is perfect
Children's Crusade tells the story of the Young Avengers on Billy's quest to find the Scarlet Witch. They need to keep ahead of the Avengers and X-men who want Wanda - but not necessarily for the same reasons as Billy. The story starts well, but comes apart at the end, however, the art is so pretty, I don't mind.I wish they'd had interviews with the writer and the artist as context for the story, but that's just a minor quibble.

Brilliant
This was the first of the Young Avengers I read (I found this via X-Factor and Rictor), but after reading this I began the arduous task of tracking down the proceeding issues and trade paperbacks to catch up. It's a very good story arc with very good writing, very well-rounded characters and very good art. Engaging and interesting, and highly recommended.

Insightful
Revolves around the Young Avengers (mostly Wiccan and Speed) on their hunt for the Scarlet Witch. Great Plot and story line with involvement from the Avengers and X-Men. A great tale in the Young Avengers, Avengers and X-Men storys as the Scarlet Witch affects them all. Highly recommended.
