My favorite is Black Flags
Ok, so let's put this up front: the issues this game launched with seem to have been patched out. I've been playing it for weeks and have not experienced any problems. Now to the review of the gameplay. First off, a little about my history with the AC franchise. I have been playing since the first one, and the only major one I skipped was the American Revolution one. My favorite is Black Flags, followed very closely by the AC II. I have played these on both the Xbox and the PlayStation. Story line: This is a good story. The plot links are there and the quests are varied. Following the murder of an important figure to you, the story moves you through the investigation to unravel the conspiracy. It's set against the backdrop of the French Revolution, and there is enough chaos in the streets that killing thugs barely attracts any attention. The only knock on story I have is that Arno, our main character, somehow already possesses the agility and training and needed to be an assassin. Prior to joining the guild, he's already parkour-ing his way around the city, etc. About the only thing he got from joining the guild was the hidden blade. Immersion: The graphics are gorgeous. The voice acting is stellar. And most important, the "out of history" portion - that part that reminds you that you're some nerd strapped to a machine in a lab - is kept to a minimum. I don't miss the "game company" part of Black Flag at all (while that was interesting at first, it was far less riveting than sailing my pirate ship and looting other ships). I haven't finished the game, but I've spent almost all of my time in the story-line thus far. Skills: Couple of new things here, but nothing major. As with every AC game, you earn them a little at a time, so you get pretty good at each one before you get the next skill. You also get some choices on each unlock tier. Online play: So this is the big one for this game - the first time you get to play mission modes with other people. Which means that you need to talk into your mic and hear what others have to say. The "social club" is part of your hideout, and it adds a nice element of feeling like you belong to a secret society of your own (a secret society of assassins within the assassin's guild, no less!). It's fun, but by no means a required portion of the game. Co-op missions are spread throughout Paris, but there is more to do in the game that is single player than co-op. FYI - you need a PSN or Xbox Live account to play online. Mechanics: Money comes fast, so you can buy your upgrades as you need them. Missions are rated based on difficulty as compared to the gear you have, so upgrade your gear to have a better chance of completing higher level missions. They give you multiple ways to achieve you assassinations, so you can tailor it to your play style. Face-to-face combat is standard - the usual block / roll and counter routine. They said they wanted to push us away from that type of game play this time around (as we're assassin's, not soldiers), but you can still get away with swash-buckling 6 guys at a time in many cases. One way that they encourage you not to linger, however, is that a lot more of the baddies in the group are willing to step back from the sword fight and shoot you with their guns, meaning you either better kill everyone quickly or start thinking about dropping your various grenades and disappearing. It only takes 2 or 3 bullets to kill you, and a long distance marksman can kill you with one shot. You can pick the different types of weapons that suit your play style and follow an upgrade path suited to that play style. Ditto for outfits that offer enhancements to various skills in your arsenal. Repetitiveness: This is always a question in the AC franchise, ever since the first. They do a good job of hiding that here, with the varied city districts and the adaption of the environment to the progression of the story. For example, I went into a mission once around a building where the streets were packed with throngs of people. At the conclusion of the mission, the building caught fire. Thereafter, going back to that spot revealed empty, quiet streets, and you only had to look a little up and down the plaza to see the roadblocks set up by French troops and the crowds of curious onlookers on the other side. It was a neat little trick, and I noticed it immediately because I had gotten used to the streets of Paris being a lot more chaotic than an organized military presence. The quests are varied, too, and even the ones that share a theme (e.g. "investigate a murder") are still varied enough in their details. You'll get hours and hours of game play here, and you'll enjoy it. Conclusion: Will this game rival Black Flags or AC II for me? I'm undecided, as yet. It's certainly excellent and certainly worth the price of admission. The scenery and city environment alone is the best it has ever been - the crowds, the setting - it just feels marvelously alive. Get it and enjoy it!

What a game, Severely underrated at its current state. Perfect for the budget gamer.
For the lack of a 4.5 star rating it will pass as a 5 star game... I never played it when it first came out due to the massive explosion of complaints that erupted from the gaming community. So I waited until it was $15 and fixed. Holy helk is this game a lot of fun. First things first delete any negative reviews or complaints you've seen or heard about this game because they simply don't hold true to the present version of the game. I have a total of 20% total sync in this game and i'm guessing around 8-10 hrs. Never have I loved being so distracted from the main story and quests by looting chests, cleaning public crimes, grabbing cockades(cheeky), completing co-op missions the list goes on. There is just so much to do in this game. I had to make this review to give Ubisoft some justice they deserve. While it is completely unfair to those who bought the game on day one, the game has received countless updates, and Ubisoft could have just left it to die. Customization of your own Arno is great i personally like wearing a very sleek outfit with nothing that jumps eccentric. The colors for your outfits are great as well and I am sporting the Ubisoft blue which contains my favorite combination of colors possible: teal as the main, and yellow as the aux. The weapon choice is also fantastic, I personally love the long weapons (spears) compared to the one handed (swords), or heavy (Great swords). Combat has received some major enhancements with more difficulty and the removal of the quick time event feel. you make your own counters now with the parry and dodge buttons... This game has the most realistic feel to combat we have seen in an AC game. While there are more positives to this game there are very minor hinderances, again VERY minor, frame rate isn't the best, I hardly ever notice the fps as the graphics are amazing and I love love love the population in the streets of France, climbing can be extremely frustration and this does occasionally reach a med-high hinderance as it can be pretty annoying. Nothing else really took away from my gameplay experience thats why it is a 4.5. I am now going to rate all the AC titles from worst to best IMO. (Syndicate not included). 7:AC Revelations (Not one single fond memory of this game, I didn't enjoy it at all 6.5/10) 6:AC 3 (No comment 7.2/10) 5:AC Brotherhood (Truly a great game no doubt but severely overshadowed by its predecessor 9/10) 4:AC Unity (9/10) 3:AC 4 Black Flag (Got 100% completion loved every second of it, buy it if you haven't already 9.2/10) 2:AC 1 (Man I have so many great memories of this game, and it was freaking hilarious at times great entrance to a great series 9.5/10) 1:AC 2 (Where to even begin I love this game so much... It is in my top 5 games of all time for sure, it was perfect in every aspect, and I honestly believe if Ubisoft takes a 2 year break from AC again we could see something spectacular, if you haven't played this game before you absolutely need to! 10/10) AC Unity isn't the best, but in its current form is a solid entry in the series... if you do purchase this game and find yourself hating the first 30min-1hr get through it! If you don't you will miss an absolute blast of a game... My recommendation is to play the Co-op mission Heads Will Roll that is what grabbed me in and you will find it about 45min in... enjoy! i hope this review helped!

A.C. Altair/Ezio! Honest and Unbiased Review
I love this game so much that idk where to start! Im addicted. People complain about the performance but i havent had any. ATMOSPHERE OF THE GAME: The setting is great! There's people all over the streets of France and theyre always doing something such as fighting, robbing, protesting, grabbing coffee, interacting, etc. The people are not just walking around in groups like in the older games. If you have been an AC player since the time of Altair & Ezio like i have been and you miss the high walls of the holy land or the tall buildings of Italy and huge churches, the city being full of buildings rather than little bamboo houses, and if you miss the underground caves and roads from AC2 and Brotherhood then this game is for you. If you only like the swamps and oceans then go play Black Flag, AC3, or Rouge. I loved Black Flag & AC3 but AC Unity i love it alittle bit more. The map is huge that honestly it's overwhelming but in a good way. Theres just so much to do. THE HATE ON THIS GAME: Ive seen a lot of reviews from people that have recently joined the Creed since AC3 or 4. Since this game takes you back to how it all began i think theyre not use to these crowds and tight spots in the cities. Theyre used to shooting cannons and climbing trees with monkeys. Also they complain about the Parkour/Freerun mechanics because it's harder. Actually it's harder at first but once you get the hang of it, within like 10 minutes, everything becomes fluid and runs great. If you like it easy and just want to hold R2 to climb and freerun then this game isnt for you. Also i see a lot of hate on the fighting mechanics which are by far the best improvements to me! The fighting style is sort of like AC One. It's actually harder though and you will be killed. It isnt like the other AC games that you can easily counter people for hours and take on an entire army. In this game you will die with just 3 or more people attacking you. Also the hate on the performance issues. Ya Id be mad too if the game gave me a lot of performance issues on the launch but as of now everything is great. So thats not something you should be worried about anymore for anyone thinking of buying this game. THE STORY: I havent really played much of the story honestly since im so caught onto playing side missions, making money, and especially co-op multiplayer. Based on what i have played from the story though i can say that Arno is a funny guy. He is sort of like Ezio back in AC2. The story i heard it's good and from what i have played it seems to be getting good. Im not going into detail because i aint going to spoil anything. GRAPHICS: Great! Better than Black Flag and it seems that in a few more years the games will actually look like their cinematic trailers MULTIPLAYER: Ive never really been a fan of AC multiplayer mode but now i am. All i play is co-op. Its really fun. especially with Mics and people that actually want to play not just mess around. PROS: Enemies are harder Huge City along with smaller cities like in AC2 Addicting Lots to do Character customization Lots to do Addicting CONS: Swords, guns, armor, etc are expensive! Addicting OVERALL: This game is beautiful. You wont be disappointed unless you are expecting it to be Black Flag Part 2: Back to the Jungle. If you love all AC games you will like this one. I honestly dont see why the hate on this game besides the performance issues during the launch. If i paid $60 dollars for my copy id say it's worth it. Luckily i got it for $30. Whatever i would of had paid i know id still be happy with the game. P.S. I made a group if you want to join its called "Spartacans" and the tag is "xVKx" stands for "Victorious Kings" lol everything else was taken and this is the best i could find. GamerTag: da-dank-ka-shank i also play FIFA 15 and i am in Division 2 if anyone wants to get beat.

Hate Uplay, love the Game
First off, a caveat: I apparently got a gold-plated copy of Unity. Clipping errors, falls through the world, cutscenes out of horror movies, I had a grand total of 3 glitches, all online. This is written from that perspective. Unity is a wonderful experience, and a great co-op opportunity, if they ever get that aspect to work. Unity is the first game that feels like a next gen in terms of raw display and sheer amount of gameplay. A major gripe I've heard is how brief the story is, but to me that feels like eating only dessert and skipping 4 other courses, as I've put in 15 hours and am maybe halfway through the whole game. Otherwise, Ubisoft is working on the bugs with co-op, so this will focus more on single player. Graphics are beyond sublime. The detail, the coloring, even the shadow play you can tell really gets the PS4 horses behind it. The number of random strangers also makes the city feel like a city. Audio is also wonderful, and just listening to the city is worth just stopping and watching for a while. Combat is steadily improved and has more layers and possible courses. Guns are as bit overpowered now, and you don't get as easy a prompt as you used to to grab a human shield, but everything gradually stacks up your abilities. Doing combat well has a benefit of granting customization cash, rather than just grinding up the housing market and becoming a billionaire used to be. Upgrades to your cafe are also more than just go hear and spend money to get more money, but layer in more story. The only downsides are that the splinter cell esque "last position" make escaping a bit of a trial, and snipers have both perfect vision and apparently NV, as every rifleman on the map will see you at the first alert, and enemies can see you from the ground way too easily. The story for Arno is wonderful, and has to be experienced as giving away anything is too much. While Ubisoft is pulling a lot of miles from their psychedelic vision quest missions, its still awesome. Your(the players) story is very meh and papered on and includes quite a few bizzare and offputting moments, as I don't think I'd join a group of self described Assassins after a single video chat from my sofa, but as you do. There's not much that can be done with the starting setup which is actually rather cute, and once you're past the alright I'll buy that moment it becomes much more enjoyable. While the other characters are hit and miss, Arno and Elise are well developed and tastefully delivered. Their love story is not shoved in your face at every opportunity, but spread out and slowly built on, with side bars, love letters, and out of mission conversations. Its actually a romantic story set in place so gently and subtly its a treat to experience when an opportunity arises. Co-op currently has serious issues. While my connection is partly to blame I'm certain, within 5 minutes of play I hit a frame rate issue that was horrific, and I fell through the floor during an air assassination into oblivion. Also, all the missions from the first one star heist requires you to have completed the single player story, as you basically must have all of the major abilities (lockpicking/double air assassination/6 star equipment) to be at all effective or to get all the benefits so it feels greatly unbalanced. Initiates is also struggling along, and is something I'd been looking forward to since AC3. Uplay must be inundated, so I may have to reappraise after the system is up and running, but currently it is just awful. The Companion App is cute and adds a bit in terms of story but feels very half-baked and is full of synchronization glitches. Side missions are revamped and almost more fun than the Assassin side bars. The murder investigations are wonderfully done and actually make you both work and at least rub two brain cells together. The Nostradamus Disc clues are hard. I wanted hard back after how much fun the Animus gltiches were in Brotherhood, and this almost swings the pendulum a little far in the other direction. But they're well done and if you are attentive the layers of the onion can be peeled away. I do like that you'll get a prompt so if you're hopelessly lost you can still find your way. Theres very few nits. The chests are a bit weird, and they all but force you into the companion app. While I'm addicted to all things Assassins Creed, that's just wrong. Collectibles is still far too much of drinking from a fire hose, and being forced to clear the map of chests that're basically worthless after about a 1/3 of the way through the game for a single trophy is annoying. A few minor bugs at random moments in single player, but nothing game changing, though that is with the caveat that I apparently got a gold plated copy, as many, MANY others has had more glitches to the point that the whole game could be called a hot mess. I wish you could see open doors and windows with your eagle vision, as trying to get into some buildings is a scavenger hunt for the one open window. Overall, this is great. Wonderful story. Engaging and challenging combat, fun, cute, and tough side missions in equal measure, and a environment that is gorgeous enough to just sit and watch. Just give Ubi a few more weeks to try and get some multiplayer aspects of it to actually work. Otherwise this is a great display of what the PS4 is truly capable of. Dead Kings DLC: Dead Kings tacks on some more story following the end of the main storyline of Unity, and is really more blah of the same variety. There're a handful of nifty environments to explore, such as a massive crumbling cathedral, but many of the missions are beyond crazy hard if you're trying to get all of the bonus points. The story opening for it is underdone and lame. The underground environments are pretty well done, but they needed a better rationale for introducing a lantern rather than imply that Arno is afraid of bats and/or cockroaches. The guillotine guns are laughably terrible, and I've yet to see another person use them, munch less use them well. I'm not through DK story yet, so maybe theres a couple good puzzle quests, but the fuse has really fizzled out already for me. I still love how massive and open the city is and all of the single player magic, but they did really drop a lot of balls from previous incarnations. AC Initiates sputtered to life and promptly died again, so maybe this'll quietly get folded off. But given out of 11 games they've managed to do 8-9 of them to the 4-5 star level, I'm willing to give them the benefit of the doubt that this is mostly growing pains of handling a new level of software. While I plan to expand on this once the co-op mechanism has its major bugs ironed out along with AC Initiates, please comment why if you do not find this review useful as I'm not used to this many negative votes.

Very good game with some issues
Now, to start off, I've played every Assassin's Creed game. I love Unity, the story, while having a Clichรฉ ending, and the occasional lag spike or floating NPC(As I've seen in multiple AC titles)it never really took away from the experience of being a complete and total badass. Without spoiling anything Major(or that you won't encounter within the first 15 minutes), Assassin's Creed: Unity, focuses souly on the main protaganist Arno Dorian, without going into the "fututre"(current time)too much as it did in previous titles. As a big fan of the entire "2012 mayan calander and old Roman/Greek gods and Christianity" mixed into the first few games(AC II, I'm looking at you!)the focus on Arno is not one we haven't seen before. Arno's father was killed by, presumably, either a traitor Assassin or a rouge Templar. He is taken in by the Templar Grand master, Franรงois de la Serre, and raised as his own. Whilst doing some 'minor' breaking and entering to see Franรงois daughter, รlise de la Serre, whom was raised as Arno's adoptive sister.(can't have a good game without a little incest I guess?) He witnesses the murder of his adoptive father, whose murder he is later framed for, and swears to avenge his death. After being thrown into the prison, he meets his fathers old friend, whom then, allows our french Ezio in on all that is going on with the now warring Templars and Assassins, as a new grand master has stepped up to the plate, and is presumably going to strike hard and fast on the Assassins, breaking their peace. Arno escapes, leaves to join the Assassin's, roll intro. Now, as far as Arno as a character goes, like stated previouly, he is pretty much Ezio with a "french"(very English sounding however) accent. He is somewhat likeable and charming, and not nearly as much of a bore as Connor from Assassin's Creed III, but he does lack the initial jerky lovableness of our favorite Assassin. The city of Paris however, is simply stunning. From now enterable houses, to the bustling streets of the slums, to the posh towers of the wealthy, to famous cathedrals like the Notre Dame de Paris. With thousands of NPC's roaming the streets, riots, people fighting randomly, and multiple random incounters to keep you interested for weeks on end, it DEFINITELY has tons of stuff to do. That being said however, the game is for sure not locked at 30 FPS, it's CAPPED at it. Honestly, at some points, I'm sure I could run it better on a 1995 Macintosh than the PS4 can handle it. I'm not sure if it's a problem with the PS4(Which if it is, console gaming has died and I need to upgrade my PC parts)or if it's simply the way it was programed on the disc. As I'm no technilogical expert on this, I'm going to blame the disc for now, unless I get conformation that in only the first full year of it's release, game designers have pushed the PS4 to it's processing limits. The story is meh, and towards the end(particularly after Sequence 7 chapter 3 or 4 were you have this big fight scene) I found the story to be dragging on a bit, and it was not keeping me as interested as I should be. The "main" plot after that seems to almost be about killing one character and the love between Arno and Elise. All and all, I loved the game, and would highly recommend it at it's current price of about 35$. I've posted some pictures down below that I have capture myself, using only the PS4 screen capturing software built into the system(pictures are not edited in any way), just so you may see how magnificent, stunning, and large this game truly is.

BIG Disappointment; Ubisoft, you can do better
When I first put this game into my PS4 it wouldn't even play. Awesome! I spent a couple of hours just trying to get it to work. This review will be spoilerific so please skip if you don't want to be spoiled. ***SPOOOILERS*** STORY: Unlike other people I don't think they story is bad. I found it engaging and compelled me to play more. The story revolves around Arno, whose father was an assassin but was ~*mysteriously murdered*~ when he was a child. The game flashes forward to Arno as an adult, who was adopted by Elise de la Serre's father after his own father was murdered, and for some ungodly reason seems very enamored with Elise. He finds out Elise has been invited to a soiree and he wasn't invited, so naturally he sneaks in anyways. At the end of soiree he finds Elise's father murdered, but everyone thinks he did it, since he came across his dead body first. He's thrown into prison. In prison he meets someone who wants to bring him into the Assassin brotherhood. He resists, but after getting out of prison, finding Elise, and finding that she isn't very thrilled to see him, he decides to become an Assassin. For the rest of the story, he is obsessed with finding out who murdered Elise's father. Arno never really puts any thought into who murdered his own father which I find incredibly strange. On the one hand, the story is interesting. You find those connected to his death and do very lengthy assassination missions which take some planning and time to coordinate. You eventually meet up with Elise again, when the story really picks up. It's really nothing more than this though. I find it incredibly strange that despite there being so much to exploit and explore about the French revolution, the story hardly even DEALS with the revolution. You wouldn't even know it was going on - it's mentioned a few times, and at the end Robespierre suddenly becomes one of your targets. But otherwise it has little to do with the actual French Revolution, which is like...seriously, Ubisoft? By Assassin's Creed standards that's incredibly disappointing. Not to mention an actual assassin in the French Revolution, Charlotte Corday, amounts to nothing but a small murder mystery mission in the game. I don't understand what the hell Ubisoft was thinking not to even integrate the French Revolution into this story. Also the ending is very uh...aggravating. If you thought AC3's ending sucked, this beats it! Hooray! CHARACTERS: The two characters you really get to know are Arno and Elise. This game is mostly focused on their relationship. Arno acts like a love-sick puppy; Elise isn't quite like that, she's more focused on revenge, but their relationship is pretty shallow. It doesn't really go into their childhood, or why they are so close and connected in the first place. For the rest of the characters in this story, don't expect to learn much about them. They are introduced briefly, and you have a couple of cutscenes with them, if you aren't assassinating them. Robespierre is also in this story but they hardly talk anything about him. GAMEPLAY: Gameplay may either be good or bad, depending on how you like to play it. For me, I liked it a lot - difficulty has been turned up a notch, so you simply can't run in and Rambo everybody like you could with Connor from AC3 or Edward from AC4. You try doing that, you gon get rekt son! Also, guns in this game are pretty lethal. You cannot use human shields in this game, so you better zig zag your way away from the bullets or roll a lot otherwise they'll take away a huge chunk of your life. Also blocking and hitting enemies is not as easy as well; they don't always wait their turn and it can be bloody hard to track what all of them are doing when you're surrounded. So...you actually need to be stealthy in this game, and abuse smoke/stun bombs when possible. They've brought back potions as well which is a small plus since you can use them in battle. But the downside is that your life does not regenerate. I REALLY like the stealth in this game. You can control Arno to make him duck and be more stealthy in general. You also have to seriously plan how you're going to enter certain buildings to take down enemies without being detected by everyone. I found this incredibly fun, but if you're not a fan of stealth and just like beating up guards, this game is not for you. Also you upgrade Arno's skills through a menu. During missions, you earn certain points that go to certain skills divided by Melee, Health, Ranged, and Stealth. You can choose whatever you want to make your own custom Assassin skill set. You also upgrade his health and strength by buying different weapons and gear. Certain gear parts/weapons upgrade certain skill sets, like some gear is best for stealth and health. I quite enjoyed that. Also parkour in this game is more complex and revamped now...it does look cooler, but it's an incredible pain to learn. Parkour isn't an upgrade in this game, it just makes the game harder to play. It needs to be changed. SIDE STUFF: There is a ton of side content in this game. More than in Brotherhood at least, which I really like, because after I finish a game I also want to spent time playing side content too. There are Helix Rift missions where you have to collect floating bits of data (I think?) and save an Assassin, which go through various time periods, from WW2 to Medieval France. These only take 3 minutes but are pretty fun, and an easy way to make money (for just 3 mins of play I can usually make 4000+F which adds up fast). There are also missions you can do with the Cafe Theatre, and renovating the Cafe helps you make more money as well. There are also murder mystery quests where you have to investigate cluse and find out who killed this or that guy. There are also Paris Stories, and all sorts of Assassin quests that can be either easy or challenging. The only drawback I have to mention here are the chests in this game. Some of the chests in this game cannot be opened without AC Initiates or using the companion app. Ubisoft...what the hell were you thinking? Right now AC Initiates isn't even working properly so I can't even access these chests. Just...it's aggravating! It's not fun! You also need to use Initiates to get Legacy outfits, such as Connor's or Ezio's outfit. Dude just no. GRAPHICS: The graphics change in this story which confuses me. Like in some parts of Paris it looks absolutely breathtaking...whereas in other parts it looks like everything suddenly has PS1 graphics. Overall though the game looks gorgeous. GLITCHES: I guess it wouldn't be an AC game without a glitches section, right? Thankfully, I haven't really run into any glitches. I had the time of my life trying to get Unity to run at first but once that was figured out, the game ran pretty smoothly. I did not see any major glitches in the game. Arno never randomly fell through the floor to his death unlike some gamers have experienced lol. Framerate started getting really bad after I beat the game though which I find strange. I think it may have to do with the sword I have equipped? Also there are horrible problems with Uplay and AC Initiates right now. I'm irritated by it. Worst AC launch ever. Initiates keeps claiming I didn't play nearly all of the AC franchise when I've beaten every one and have 100% sync on 3 of them. I could get my Connor's outfit if Initiates worked correctly...but alas I can't >:( PLUSES: - So much side content. Lots of variety as well. - Graphics sometimes inconsistent, but overall a visual step up from previous installments - Fighting is revamped now and makes you really focus on stealth, which I like, not easy anymore! - Assassinations are now more complex and take some planning to figure out. You cannot simply run in and assassinate somebody. It's finally time they did this. - Story is engaging and intriguing. - AI has improved in this game. Guards are no longer stoopey stupid. CONS: - This story hardly focuses on the French Revolution. Like wut, Ubisoft, wut - The ending is worse than the ending in AC3. - Characters are not well developed. - Parkour makes me want to gauge my eyes out - Glitches, man! Ubisoft! Come on now! There is no excuse for these glitches! And don't even get me started on what's happening with Uplay and AC Initiates right now. - Some of the chests can only be opened with Initiates or the Unity Companion App. It's a headache, especially considering these two things aren't even functioning right now. Good job Ubisoft Overall, this game is somewhat fun, the story is interesting, but don't expect it to be an epic AC game. It falls way short of expectations but the side content and stealth is enough to keep me playing. Ubisoft, you can do better than this. Side content is great, but you need to have an excellent story to back it up. The story was nice, but it didn't feel like an AC story to me. If you're trying to decide between AC Unity and AC Rogue, Rogue's story is better even though the game is incredibly short. But the side content in Unity is better than Rogue. So depending on what interests you...choose whatever. Also, thank god there's no sailing in the game.

An innovative game that deserves more recognition
Assassinโs Creed Unity is a great game that deserves more recognition. A year ago I bought a PS4 with some games, and one of them was AC Unity. The positive side of buying the game months after its release was that many patches had already come out, which fixed many of the game's bugs. I had read some mixed reviews of this game, but since I played many of this seriesโ games I wanted to give it a try, and I do not regret it at all. First of all, let me start by saying that although it is not as good as AC Black Flag, it does come close. In my opinion, Black Flag is a masterpiece in every way possible, but the thing is that Unity does not try to be better than Black Flag, it wants to be different from it. And it surely does. I am going to divide the review into different parts so that I explain each one better: STORY/PLOT (No spoilers): As I said before, Unity does not try to be like Black Flag, and you can tell that right from the start. The story takes place in France before, during and after the French Revolution. It is a completely different setting in comparison to Black Flag. I was not as moved with the story as I was with the previous game, although there were some parts that leave you on the edge of your seat. Overall the story was good (it has a few plot twists) but it is not that memorable. GRAPHICS: Taking into account that this was the first game I played on my brand-new PS4, I was overwhelmed by the graphics. I could really feel like I was in France during the French Revolution because everything is very detailed (from the largest building to the smallest puddle). The lighting and physics engines are very realistic and they contribute to the feeling of immersion. One of the reasons why the game takes place in this time period is because of the amount of people that were on the streets, and that translated well onto the game. Although there are some NPCs (Non-Playable Characters) that are repeated, the number of people that can appear at the same time is almost unreal. GAMEPLAY: Regarding the gameplay, the controls are easy to learn and it is almost completely the same as in previous games. I experienced some bugs a few times but my gameplay experience was very good. I really liked the fact that you could personalize your character based on what your gameplay was like, you could be stealthy, a head-on fighter or a balance between the two. This concept applies to everything related to the equipment of your character, from the clothes to the weapons he carried. This increases the replay value because you can play the same missions again but with a different equipment, and therefore a different tactic. Having all of this in mind, Assassinโs Creed Unity is a very good game. An inconsistent story that is compensated with a surprisingly large replay value and an innovative gameplay.

I love this game
I'm writing this review in January of 2016, having bought the game much cheaper than the original price and having the ability to download all the patches/updates on PlayStation 4. I feel out of fairness I need to write this review considering the bashing the game took, which it may have deserved considering it took me over a half hour to download updates. With that said, I love this game. Personally, while it's not as large as Black Flag, the graphics are the best I've seen to date (I haven't bought Syndicate yet) and the detail throughout the game is impressive, even so far as going into random buildings they're all decorated based on where you are in the city (poor, rich, aristocrats), looking through the crowds it's not obvious there are any replicas, and the landmarks are detailed. Taking place during the French Revolution, certain areas are more difficult due to a stronger police/lawful (gendarmerie?) presence, while other areas are essentially (as far as I can tell) devoid of any enforcement. Unlike previous games perhaps, the crowds do respond more frantically when you kill a Templar/criminal, normally running away, and it attracts any nearby allies of the person you kill or law enforcement. I'm not sure how good or bad the story is compared to other games. Personally, I don't get so interested in it where I remember every character's name, every minor mission I do, and every detail of the story like some gamers do. I normally play, listen, read about it online, and that's it. It hasn't seemed any better or worse than previous games. The difficulty is similar to other games where there are some difficult moments but nothing where you feel like you're going to be there for eight hours or throw your PlayStation through the window. There is so much to do in this game I spent hours upon hours avoiding the main story, renovating the places available and completing side missions. Once you synchronize all the spots in the city it can be overwhelming just how many things there are to do. I've slowly gone from area to area doing as much as I can. There are certain parts you have to complete the main mission or certain side missions to get (like lock picking skills) and it can be annoying how hard or long it takes to get certain things, like double assassination skill. But, some of the side missions in themselves, including full investigations of someone being murdered, are so involved that when I take a meta-view of the game it's overwhelming to me how complicated and involved it must have been for the programmers and producers of this game. If you have an internet connection, I would highly recommend you buy this game, download the updates, and play. In the beginning it's sort of rough because you have no gear and die very, very easily but over time it gets better. I'd also encourage you to just go on YouTube and cheat with the Nostradamus puzzles. You'll spend hours trying to figure them out for nothing major. When you actually just type in whatever one it is on YouTube and see how far away some things are, you'll be glad you didn't waste your time. It's probably the major thing I don't like about the game. Even just flat out cheating it will take you over an hour or so to do all of them if you rush to each one. I'm not really sure how the developers thought people would find it enjoyable. (These types of things are why I never buy games brand new; I want to be able to cheat and figure them out quickly. Life is too short.) Maybe it's me, having grown up in the 80's with Nintendo, but when I see reviews bashing a game like this because of a lack of innovation or something, it doesn't make much sense to me. It's almost like previous games were too good and there's no way to top yourself. Like music, sports, chemistry, physics, and what not, I think the more you realize how hard and difficult games like this are to make the more you may appreciate it. Yeah, at times there are little glitches, your dude plunges to his death and the like but it's nothing where I would think to give this any less than a five. That would be like dating a beautiful woman and insulting her because you don't like the color of her nail polish.

Worth it!
It was a nice touch after I play Odyssey. To get back to the old ways of assassins (and I absolutely enjoyed Odyssey. Love the game even) And the parkour system is the best! It was fun to remind myself that killing everyone or just a group of then is no longer an easy task lol. (Which is why I enjoyed berserk blades so much)

Great Game
I love the AC series and this one was awesome. It got a bad rep but it is one of my favourite AC games. It is so fun and doesn't glitch much at all. The graphics are AMAZING as well. It legit made me want to go to France.
