Philips WhiteVision ultra H4 car headlight bulb, 4.200K, set of 2

Bought these to replace the tired halogen bulbs in my car, and the upgrade in night-time visibility is genuinely noticeable. Fitting the H4 bulbs was simple enough—took about ten minutes on the driveway. The light output is a crisp, clean white with a very slight cool tint, making road markings, signs, and kerbs stand out far better than standard yellowish halogens. What I really appreciate is that they offer a modern, bright look while staying completely road-legal and safe. The beam pattern remains sharp and clean, so you get better illumination ahead without dazzling oncoming drivers. Rain and foggy night drives feel a lot less exhausting on the eyes now. A great choice if you want a premium, bright halogen upgrade from a trusted brand without risking cheap unbranded LEDs.

If you want the white LED look, then these are definitely the bulbs to buy. They are super white! My photo shows the Phillips WhiteVision Ultra versus my daytime running light (it is NOT the yellow indicator!). I honestly don't think they are much brighter than the cheap brownish H4 bulbs, but they definitely look nice. With no rain the road is more visible. However, super white headlights cause the "backscatter" effect when the white light hits rain droplets, fog, or spray and reflects the light back toward the driver’s eyes instead of continuing down the road. This effect is much less prominent with slightly brownish (warm) headlights. The optimum colour headlight to reduce backscatter is around 4200 K. I started replacing my headlights each year (when I get my MOT) so they never burn out at an inconvenient time. However, I'll buy 4200K lights next time even though I really like the super white light from the Phillips WhiteVision Ultra.

Purchased Phillips lamps as been in the industry for many years ,used the brand as a leader ,unfortunately after only 3 months the lamp has failed ,high beam is fine. I removed the originals as I live in the county with no street lighting . I would used again but really need to last longer .

Fitted a set of these to my Volkswagen Transporter (2013 T5.1) - they were a doddle to fit. They are certainly an upgrade over the stock bulbs, but don't expect miracles - these are not Xenon or LED levels of brightness and the colour to my eyes is off white (I have LED bulbs fitted in the DRLs and they are pretty close, but different). I was a little disappointed with the brightness when dipped. They are however excellent when on full beam. Longevity remains to be seen but I have done several evenings of long motorway drives so far without problems.

Bought these to replace some well aged halogen bulbs on a CBF600 motorcycle. My overall view are that these are disappointing. Packaging is complex and visually appealing - gives you the sensation that the product is superior and high end. However, appearances can be deceiving. Poor quality for the price. The bulbs although brighter than a standard halogen, give no real meaningful distance in spread or light flood on the road. Considering the lifetime of these bulbs is less than 1/3 of a standard halogen, the performance when it comes to lighting is under par. Estimated usage is under 200 hours and when you have a vehicle that has always-on lights, that’s not long at all. My first bulb (purchased the 2 pack) failed in less than 50 hours. I also took all precautions installing, by wearing gloves and not getting skin oils on the bulb as this can decrease lifetime as well (Take note DIYers!)

Menudo acierto haber cambiado las luces del coche. La visibilidad ha mejorado una barbaridad al conducir de noche. No me esperaba que se notara tanto la diferencia en este modelo. Ahora parece que voy conduciendo un vehículo totalmente nuevo. Es increíble cómo algo tan sencillo cambia tanto la estética. Cruzaré los dedos para que no me digan nada en la próxima revisión. Espero que pasen sin problemas y no me pongan ninguna pega. Desde luego, ha sido la mejor inversión que he hecho este mes.
