So if you get that dreaded battery icon with the exclamation point in the middle, regardless of all the online resetting and firmware update failures, it’s your battery that is dead! This is the solution. The mini Torx screwdriver was the right size to open the Fitbit. The Plusivo soldering iron kit is necessary because it has the fine point head to delicately unsolder the battery. If you’re not comfortable with soldering then don’t attempt replacing the battery yourself. But if you’re capable, then this will restore your Fitbit. One other caveat, the Fitbit screws can be difficult to remove and strip easily. But this is the right battery.UPDATE: this battery only holds a charge for one day. Revised rating.

Fixed a dead fitbit in less than 30 minutes

Just as a heads up for others thinking of replacing the battery in their Fitbit Charge HR. This did not change the behavior of the battery charge not lasting even an hour. So, either I received a defective battery or the Charge HR has another problem that acts like a bad battery. Also the Torx screwdriver was too big and did not fit - it looks like a T3 or T4 but the Charge HR requires a T2. It does show as charging completely but does not last even an hour much less 5 days.

Good product

Battery was confirmed for the model. It was oversized and didn’t fit the compartment. The tools were helpful at dismantling the Fitbit. However, it was all useless in the end because the battery didn’t fit.

Product worked well for 3 weeks, and then failed. Purchased for 2 units. Second unit lasted 5 weeks until it failed too.

I chose this kit because it had everything I needed. Unfortunately the Torx screwdriver provided doesn't fit the screws on the Fitbit Charge HR.(It should have been a Torx T2)
