Why are all the tips if my trees turning brown and falling off after about 2 months?

Had the same problem and then they all slowly died. Tried everything and I mean everything to save them but nothing worked? They came out of the gate great and after 4 months, game over. Good Luck.

If these are planted close together, does it limit their height potential? (I'm wanting a 12 t0 15 foot height maximum)

I wouldn't think so I have mine about three feet apart they do like sun.the plants that are getting the most sun are growing the fastest once they're established

Do these trees grow well in clay soil?

Yes they do! I live in the township of Clay NY...named aptly for the soil. They like water so rock hard soil of anykind would result in stunted or slow growing trees.

How far away should i plant hybred willow trees from pvc sanitary lines

Like any tree you'll have to know whether it's roots or invasive I have pine trees to get into my pipes and I live in the desert so they're looking for water anywhere... If these trees or any tree for that matter has shallow roots ... They might not invade your leach field but you have to remember to keep them wet... My solution was to put in a dog house type leach field that's a large open Arch that interlock and The Roots can have their way in there and suck up the water
