Cavilon 3M Durable Barrier Cream is worth the money. Upon dabbing the area there is instant relief. The cream is not greasy and has no "perfumey" smell. Please note Cavilon is not a cure for skin irritation just the instant relief. And to apply does not require a lot of the cream. In my experience the relief last for days. Stephenmark

I'm writing this from the perspective of someone with bowel movement issues and will keep it as medically clean as possible, but if you get squirmy about bodily functions, then you might want to find a review more suitable for your need. I hope this helps others with similar problems. I am post surgery for colorectal cancer and ostomy reversal. As anyone with IBS or post colon surgery knows, your exit area can become quite irritated with frequent wiping, kind of our own special "diaper rash". Irritation to the point you have blood on your tissue, from hemorrhoids or not, is no picnic. Mine is non-hemorrhoidal, just bad skin irritation from constant wiping. I tried desitin and pure aloe gel with no real result. There was temporary relief, but the problem would be there again with the very next toilet visit. Then I found Cavilon. It was the solution I was looking for. After a little experimentation, I hit on the right way to use it for this problem. At first, I put it on tissue and wiped with it when I felt I was clean enough. Needless to say, there was discomfort with this method and I also realized that I wasn't really getting a thorough application because of what had preceded it and that using a tissue to apply it was not really the best way to get to all of the irritated skin. I have found that applying it in the evening before going to bed after showering and drying the area has worked the best. The area is clean and dry and I have been fortunate in that I really don't need to do that business very often at night so it has time to really absorb into the skin like it is meant to. I put on a nitrile (non-latex) glove, put some on a finger and spread it around. I also put some in to about the depth of my finger nail to get to the really sensitive skin. I started getting immediate results after 2-3 days. There is no more irritation or discomfort down there. I am still putting it on once daily after 2 weeks, but am considering going to every other day.

Getting more stars requires better-than-expected performance, ruggedness, etc. I bought this for my Mom, who has venous insufficiency and wears compression socks and leg wraps daily. This review is based on her comments and my views when applying the cream. Mom finds this cream works best (she uses a rotation of 4 creams). This cream is by far her favorite, and she uses it more than 50% of the days. It is easy to apply, and keeps Mom's legs soft and protected from the leg wraps. My only issue with it is how often I find it out of stock. Buy 3-4 tubes at a time so you don't run out and can re-stock. I re-purchased after 3 tubes were used, so I have time to deal with delayed shipments.

One thing I noticed with this cream is that you really don't need to use a huge amount. It spreads well, so the tubes should last longer than you might expect depending on how you're using it. I specifically appreciate that it's unscented. Products like this don't need a bunch of added fragrance. The two-pack is convenient because you can keep one tube where you normally use it and have another available as a backup. I would prefer a flip-top cap instead of having to deal with a separate cap, especially when your hands already have cream on them. Otherwise, the packaging is straightforward and the cream is easy to apply.

It’s has been maybe 2yrs. Since I used this product;however the effectiveness and quality hasn’t changed. But, I can’t afford it. I do 1(one) application and and the tube is finished. I really feel cheated was very disappointing. I would hope the company would either lower the price or increase the quantity.thks

I love this stuff! It's the best barrier hand cream for cold winter months. It initially seems greasy when applied, but seconds later, it absorbs.

It’s a wonderful moisturising cream. Very creamy and it does the job. I used it every time I went to bathroom. It does stain my underwear, but it works and stain comes off in the wash.

Very good, I use it when I feel uncomfortable due to the heat and you get abit of chaffing, it really eases the rubbing of skin and stops it from becoming any worse, in fact repairs overnight!!
