Love the simplistic design and ease of cleaning
After some waffle making, I have come to love the simplistic design. The fact that this is a flip waffle maker (the only good way to make deep-pocket waffles) that has a simple mechanism that has less complexity and thus less parts to fail is nice. I also really appreciated the ease of cleanup - the waffle plates come out easily and yet are held securely when in use. For the fist use, I followed the directions of plugging it in and letting it heat up for 10 to 15 minutes to allow some of the "factory new" smell and smoke to clear before making the first waffle. Do not forget to do this as not doing that could likely impact the flavor of the first waffle. An annoying bit is the seam between the waffle maker and the plastic that holds the waffle maker to the pivot mechanism. I wish it were molded in a bit better such that it would not have any particles at the seam. Also, the drip plate under it is just barely as large as the waffle maker. If you end up having a bit too much batter in a waffle, the drip-out could get beyond the drop plate. (We had one waffle that had a small amount of drip but that tiny amount was caught by the drip plate - so it is only a concern and no actual experience) This is not industrial strength - but for family use it seems to be well made. I would expect it to last quite some time. (Many years)

Where do I begin telling the wonders of this product!
Let's start with the roller ball flipper part...It has one and it is easy to use. The piece of garbage I bought at Wally world didn't have one and it broke in 2 days from simple flipping. This has plates that are removable for cleaning! It has a built on drip pan which attaches to the roller ball which lifts off for easy cleaning! The product works as intended and makes wonderful waffles.Well, I haven't made any waffles yet. I have only made CHAFFLES!!!! Yes, fellow Keto'ers this machine makes a chaffle large enough to make a club, rueben, lox, whatever you want sandwich and a whole chaffle is only 2 net carbs!!!! Screw that mini waffle maker they speak of! You need to make those twice to get a sammy made. This maker will make a huge Belgium chaffle that you can cut in half for 2 meals or piggy out and still not screw up your macros! I am in love with everything about this product! SECURA for the Keto win!!! Buy it. You will be happy. Buy two so your husband and kids can have regular waffles. But really, the removable plates mean no carb cooties. Buy two anyway. I'm going to try my Keto cookie recipe in this. The uses are endless really! Fathead dough pizza crust... Off to make a chaffle now :) Enjoy!

Mostly, but not entirely, okay
It makes good waffles and is easy to use. I bought it to replace one without removable plates. This one allows for ease of oiling beforehand and cleaning afterward because I can take the plates out. It also helps keep the entire unit cleaner. However, after three uses, the plastic bulb covers loosened and fell out. I'm guessing the glue was not able to take the heat. (I make two batches, so I don't turn it off in-between. It does get hot.) These pieces of plastic don't pop back in place; they just fall out when the iron is turned. So now I've got to either find a glue that's heat-proof and safe or just live with the defect. UPDATE: used epoxy on the plastic lens covers; that worked fine. Also, I do hand wash the plates, but as someone who just ruined an aluminum ice cream scoop in the dishwasher, I now realize aluminum cannot withstand the highest temp my dishwasher is currently set to. This is adjustable, but if you don't want to do that, just hand wash the plates.

Great upgrade from the basics
As someone who has a belgian waffle for lunch literally every day (i kid you not), I needed an upgrade from my aging basic waffle maker. This was certainly the upgrade I needed. The removable plates make clean-up so much easier than I expected. Press a button and they're out. Slide back in and done. Easy. A little spray of cooking spray or spray oil makes the waffles come out easily - I definitely didn't read the instructions the first time though, and got a waffle stuck. These need cooking spray, full-stop. The heating is consistent throughout, and the detachable base makes any cleanup very easy. Solidly built product as well. A small gripe is that the base is very light compared to the rest of the assembly, which makes it a little awkward during certain movements. I can add a weight or something to the underside to offset, so it's not a huge deal. Overall, very satisfied and would recommend to anyone.

Love it
I took a risk on buying this product without any prior reviews, but I'm glad I did. The waffle maker is nice and sturdy and doesn't feel cheap. The directions explain that upon first use the unit may smoke and have an odor for 15 minutes or so, and it did so I'm glad that I expected it and wasn't alarmed. I made a batch of waffles and found that a full cup of batter is the right amount to make a complete waffle. There is no annoying beep to tell you the waffle is done (luckily) but it does have a green light that turns on. The lighter waffle in the picture attached is what you get if you open it right when the light comes on, and it's cooked well. I like my waffles darker than most and when I tried leaving the waffle in for 6 minutes I got the darker waffle in the pictures attached. Somewhere in between is probably perfect. The best part about this waffle maker (and the reason I bought it) is that the top and bottom plates detach for easy cleaning. I can attest that they are very easy to remove and reinstall, I had no trouble at all. I really don't have any complaints about this product and I hope to use it for years to come.

Good design with fair manufacturing execution!
*UPDATE After 1 month (approx. 30 uses). 2 of the light covers broke and fell out. I used JB Weld to replace them. JB Weld can take high temperatures. Doesn't look great but it works. As stated below... great design but poor execution and inferior parts. I cannot understand the 5-Star ratings. Unless they were written and never updated. I waited about a month to be able to give a very accurate review. This had ALL the options and functions that I wanted in a waffle maker. So here it is... Pros: 1) The Teflon-coated plates are removable which makes them easy to clean. 2) After figuring out the exact amount of batter to use (just barely cover the entire bottom plate), it became very easy to clean. 3) The Flip function is very handy in getting the batter distributed evenly. Cons: 1) Like most foreign-made off-brands, the No-Stick coating is very, very thin and can scratch off just by gently setting one plate on top of another in the sink. I see this becoming a BIG problem quickly. 2) Taking the black base off and putting it back on CAN pinch the cord if you are not careful. 3) Oil seems to be getting in behind the silver outside cover. It isn't properly sealed. It hasn't caused any problem yet... but I see it being the probable cause of the next Con. 4) I have NOT had this problem yet, BUT, it has been a major complaint on this particular item... the lights falling out of the silver outer casing. If the problems mentioned with the design and materials were fixed... I'd pay twice the price for this waffle maker and give it 5-Stars! As-is... I won't replace this maker with the same model. I'll look for something very similar, only made with better materials and a manufacturing process. *Update #2! After 5 months, my prediction came true. The lights quit working and the heating has become unreliable! The availability for oil to get to the parts has finally sent it to the Waffle Maker graveyard. $10 a month is what it cost me to make waffles with this cheaply made appliance. There are much better and more reliable offers out there. The most disturbing thing is after the waffle maker stopped working, I opened it up and found that my initial fears were worse... a fire hazard. I highly recommend you choose something else!

Makes good waffles, some quality issues
Makes great waffles. Very easy to clean. This is the second one we have bought. This one seems a bit more cheaply made though. The orange and green covers over the indicator lights fell off right out of the box and won’t stay on now and the little nonstick pads on the bottom keep coming off. I’ll likely superglue them back on but after 1 use they shouldn’t be coming off.

Great waffle maker
I am super picky with waffle makers and this one definitely passes my test! Pros: - Removable plates!!!!! Why is this not standard in all waffle makers! Seriously my favorite feature - Compact flip design. Most Belgium waffle makers are more difficult to store since they are bigger. This is super easy to store! So important if you are tight on cabinet space - Heats quickly and cooks waffle quickly - Love the base included for catching extra batter if it spills over - Waffle maker and base separate so you can wash the base in the sink! - love the green light that come on when it’s ready to use Cons - not as deep of a waffle as I expected - no temp control, but not a huge deal - was not expecting the base to be made of plastic. Wish it were a heavier material to match the quality and weight of the griddle

plates are easly removed and wash up easly as so far nothing seems to stick!
Heats up quickly. Ready to use in a couple of minutes. Easy to tell when ready to bake (red comes on when first plugged in then green light comes on when ready to bake. When you pour in the batter and close the lid it takes about 8 minutes to cook to a degree that I like. To make a single waffle from the Pearl Milling Co .mix that I ordered at the same time as I ordered the waffle iron I just add 1/2 cup of mix, 1/3 cup of warm water, a tablespoon of virgin olive oil and a few drops of vanilla for extra flavor. This has worked every time for me so far. I found that turning the mix 1/2 way through to be a waste of time as this batter is so thick it cooks evenly.

Very inferior quality product
Bought this in April and right since we started using it, it's always one thing or the other cracking or falling off. It is slowly falling apart after only using it a few times. The components (heating plates) also don't key in well and fall off sometimes while in use. I do not recommend. Do not buy.

Easy to use and clean
I love this waffle iron! The plates are removable for easy cleanup which was a huge selling point for me. I’ve used it about a dozen times so far and it’s still working great! The lock can be a bit stiff and one side gets hotter than the other, but not much. Otherwise the heat is distributed evenly across the plates.

Falling apart
Bought this because I liked the fact that I could take the plates apart for washing and cleaning. And that’s the only good thing about this waffle maker. I’m using it 3times now and it’s already falling apart, the light are melting and falling. the dividers between the plates are too tight, they cut the waffles in pieces before u even take them out, means u can’t have a whole full waffle on ur plate., It doesn’t have any control temperature, I have to keep opening the top to see if it’s ready or not, did I mention some parts starting to melt and falling apart?
