A common (and healthy) Dutch breakfast: Top the Rusk with canned fish, e.g., sardines, mackerel, kippered herring. Review: And here I was afraid I would go over the expiration date with 6 rolls - Well, that is not going to happen, they are so good, I am going through them like a baby through diapers. With chocolate sprinkles or with cheese or cream cheese or jam. I never knew they had started making a small indent so that you can get them out easier. My brother in the Netherlands says it shows how long I have not had beschuitjes, lol, as they have been doing that for years already.

Holland Rusk
Am on is the only place I can find a toast like Holland Ruck that is like the swipe back you could find in the baby food isle. It is perfect for so many reasons if you experience esophagitis or gerd, or enjoy with hot tea or warm milk, good for babies.

Great product - packing for shipping missed the mark this time
The product is great! I have ordered this item 6 times now. The shipping this last time was . . . Incomplete. The box for shipping is fine, but there was no packing material. As shown in the photo, no Packing material allowed the product to bounce around during shipping. Ok for some things, not for TOAST. I have only opened one package so far, but both the top and the bottom pieces were completely crushed. The other 5 packs rattle suspiciously when you turn them upside down so, unfortunately, I feel like those will have crushed pieces also. Again, the product is great, the correct packing for this item was sadly missing this time.

The little notch
I was so happy to find Holland rusk on Amazon. A very nice extra perk is the little notch in the edge of each piece. Just pick the rusk out by putting a finger in the notch. Now it won't break while trying to get it out.

Holland Rusk
Gift for my mom who is from Holland! She ate these when we were growing up. Very special for her because these are hard to find!

Paid for rusks, got crumbs.
The product is AMAZING. I have ordered it 3 times and the first two times they were beautifully intact. This third time however, you could have just finished crushing them up at the warehouse and sent me the crumbs in an envelope to save the trouble of such a big box. Good grief. What a disappointment. Cutting corners on shipping destroyed my product. RIDICULOUS!!!

Reminds me of visits at Grandma's
Reminds me of visits at Grandma's having tea and these. We always buttered them (soft butter because they will break) and would put sugar on top, tipping them from side to side until the butter was covered by the sugar, and would tap off the excess. Delightful. We can buy them locally for $1.99 each at a farm stand operated by a Dutch family. But during the winter, when we can't, this will do. My husband likes to crumble these into a bowl with applesauce. I just haven't had the inclination to try that way;-)
