Fusion Wood Tip Hickory Drumsticks, Pair

Nice sticks.....slightly larger than 5A.

These are by far my favorite drumsticks. Vater makes a beautiful product. Sturdy wood sticks hold up to a beating. Before I found these, the promark rebounds were my go to. These vater fusions hold up better and the small tip is great for a variety of different playing styles. They are especially good for cymbal articulation. These are also cheaper than your promark and vic virth brands.

I switched to Vater sticks after Vic Firth jacked their prices up and the Vater sticks stayed cheaper, but there's nothing cheap about these sticks. The increased moisture content in the sticks keeps them from chipping apart like the Vic Firth and Pro Marks I've used. The Fusions sit right between the 5a and 5b size which is the sweet spot for me. They've got a good balance, not too front heavy, but not weighted to the back like the Pro Mark rebound sticks. The tip gives a great cymbal sound. I use the Manhattan 7a sticks sometimes too and these are just a little bit brighter on the ride cymbal.

I really like this stick for some practice but prefer the clarity of plastic tips. Just depends on what tones you’re looking for. I find Vater sticks have a great feel and balanced weight.

Trying these out for rock-band use. They work well for me. Vater makes a very good drumstick.

My new secret weapon. Used to rock the 5A with a wood tip, but these fusions are well balanced and offer more beef. Never going back.
