Review: Is the simplest and nearest source about the certification questions ... - Is the simplest and nearest source about the certification questions. I found a strong basis to pass my Autodesk Certified Professional test. Review: Good but... - Not especially wild about this book...It can be confusing at times because the author does not stick to one method of doing things. It's great to know alternative ways to input the same command, but if you're new to CAD, I feel repetition is key. Shortcuts or alternates should, of course, be mentioned, but not inserted constantly so that there's no opportunity to find your "style" and stick with it. I'm giving the book four stars because the author is quite knowledgeable about his subject and there's a wealth of information between the covers and links to files stored online.

AutoCad 2013 & AutoCad LT 2013 Essentials
I have to say I was disappointed in this book. Thankfully, I am already fairly competent in AutoCad as far as most commands go. I was looking for further instruction on certain aspects of the program and the step-by-step details just aren't there. I actually found out more by "googling" what I was wanting to know than reading about it in this book. For me, this was far from being "An Official Training Guide". I certainly don't recommend this for someone who has never used AutoCad.

All the Essentials series are excellent... They are really good books, and you get a very solid foundation of the program

The thing I need
The thing you will need to learn autocad. It starts with the basic thing you can learn and until half-reading the book you will be able to draw plans accurately and print them. Really useful textbook, I should say the best!

NOT essential
Another book that's little more than a list of commands with no real attempt to guide you through the process of producing designs with AutoCAD.
