Retrospec Bicycles Cane Woven Rectangular Toto Basket with Authentic Leather Straps and Brass Buckles

Purchased this product in late September for my daughter's bike. She is a college student and uses the bike to commute to school and work. Her bike is stored in her apartment and only exposed to the elements in the day time. She basically got less than two months of use before it fell apart. Definitely disappointed in the quality of this product.

I love this basket! I don't carry anything heavy in it, just basic things like water, phone, etc, so it's perfect for my needs on a leisurely bike ride. If you're wanting a basket for heavy groceries, I'd get a wire basket. This one is more for looks and light carry alongs. Perfect size too!! Plenty of room for a small picnic blanket and book! :)

I love this basket and so does the dog! It is the perfect size for putting my handbag in, for trips to the library and putting books in and even Bam Bam loves going out for bike rides in it. It is sturdy and heavy duty. Fits the bike handlebars perfectly and unlike other baskets I have had, it doesn't drag on the front wheel when it has stuff in it.

I love this basket! It's a large basket but I love that about it! I can run to the store and put a small amount of groceries in there or go to the mailbox and not worry about the mail flying out. The wicker isn't super stiff and brittle so it doesn't break off. The leather straps are also a nice touch. Super happy with it. :)

Would give it a 4.5 if I could. You will be hard pressed to find a better basket that has the wicker and the leather handles. I got this after a lot of research to find something that can hold our 8 lbs pom chi. This fits him perfectly. As another reviewer noted, in order to support the basket (front or rear) you need to have the underneath support (I have it up front). You MUST have this as from what I can tell the basket is too fragile to hold anything more than cell, keys etc. I give this 4 stars because the wicker was peeling as soon as I took it out of the box but like I said you'd be hard up to find something better that can transition to other bike models. There are a ton of reviews from people who want to put their small dog in here and a good idea is to use a dog seat belt and attach one end to their harness and the other (with a carabiner) to the slack of the leather strap. As a dog lover, I wanted to pass on my thoughts to other dog people. For those asking on weight limits I would say more than 10 lbs is pushing it.

Feels like a very good quality basket with leather straps. I bought some artificial flowers on Amazon and threaded them through the wicker to add color (see photos).

If you're looking for a large brown stained woven basket for your bicycle, then this is pretty much the only option you need. It's made very well, has good quality materials and accents, and has lasted for several years now. Absolutely no complaints, and it's large size is great when you have kids and constantly have to carry more things with you than you would normally want to. :)

I literally just purchased this basket to carry my little Maltipoo -- he's 3.9lb -- around with me. I LOVE the color, and the size of this basket. My dog fits PERFECTLY and he absolutely loves riding around in it. He has more than enough room. I have a Schwinn Urban Traveler, and wouldnt want this basket to be any larger and/or smaller. I really think it's the perfect size. As for the reviews/comments about it not being sturdy, I can see why they feel this way if they don't have the underneath support. My bike has a front rack/bar built-in, so having this for the basket to 'sit' on while being strapped into the handle-bars at the top, makes for an extremely enjoyable riding experience. I also love the straps have multiple holes, giving you a variety of lengths to choose from. The ONLY suggestion I have, is for this exact basket to be made but with a WATER BOTTLE HOLDER. I would buy it in an instant. Overall, for now, I think this is a great basket, and highly recommend it!

I received this refurbished item in what appeared to be good condition. I was really happy with this basket as it looked great and it was the perfect size for my bike. However I have understood that this item is of poor quality. Barely a month has passed by before this basket has started to fray completely. I have used it to only carry light items such as sweatshirt or a book. I'm very disappointed with the short shelf life of this basket.

I got this for my mom's bike, she likes to ride to work in the morning and needed something to carry some of her stuff in. She loves it, it works great and doesn't jiggle around much if the straps are tight, but there is some jiggling.

loved this ... was ideal for my vintage bicycle ... disappointed it was missing one leather strap ... but I made do ... I have made sure not to leave out in the rain also ...

Not too sure how well this is going to hold up, the whicker is very flimsy and in spots already splitting.For the price, I expected a little more sturdy design, but if using for small items purse, beer (yah, I'm that person), a few items at the store or some books, it should be okay.

Don't get this if you actually need to carry stuff on your bike. Parts of the basket are already unravelling and the leather straps don't hold the basket up properly, so if you put anything (e.g. bike lock) in it it sinks down and rubs the front wheel fender, making an annoying noise. Unfortunately it's too late to return but I'll be replacing.

Bought this for a Schwinn bike and the quality is awesome. Hold so much but I wouldnt put anything to heavy in it to risk it breaking. Awesome find.

it's a cute basket that I am using to hold hats and mitts in our mudroom so I do not really know about the construction if carrying heavier items. However, it IS crooked. The base and side are not a uniform shape (I don't think this is intentional). so I would be wary if actually putting on a bike to carry around groceries or something.

Looks great and is excellent for my commuter bike. It is a bit flimsy so not ideal for heavy stuff but holds everything you could need for a day trip - lunch, water, sweater, hat, glasses, gadgets etc. The free & super fast shipping was awesome too!

Nice basket but it's a little lopsided so it doesn't sit in the middle of my handle bars. The holes/straps are not evenly spaced from the center. I'm a perfectionist so it really bothers me.

Looks good but I don't think it is very sturdy. It is good for small items and is more of a design. Certainly not for heavy items.

Bought it for my dog and it’s been great! Not sure how long the handle will be able to support my dog tho.

Love this basket - fits perfectly on my vintage western flyer. Good quality on the straps - holds a decent amount.
