Caused problems
I think the USB interface chipset is defective. I installed a brand new drive, worked well for about a week but then file transfers began taking much longer progressively. I tried 6 different new cables from different manufacturers and then it stopped working altogether. I took out the drive, put it back in the old enclosure and it works perfect. Comparatively faster than this flashy new piece of junk. Don't waste your time or your money. They just look pretty until they quit entirely on you.

Too easily damage
This external enclosure cost so much money and as soon as you closes the enclosure the latch that suppose lock and keep in the hard drive keeps on release s and you have to force and keep it lock. The enclosure makes too much noise whenever you turns it on very loud noise.

Works great
Works great, VERY easy to install drives despite other misleading reviews. Runs as fast as advertised and allowed me to turn an old HDD into a backup clone of my primary SSD. Very happy overall. Thank you!

size of the screws for installing HD are wrong
Luckily I have some old HD screws around. Otherwise I would have to return it. I got the other model from this company with better construction but it is too expensive.

Not usb 3.1 false statement
Not usb 3.1 nor 3.0. It is basic USB port so wont plug directly into usc 3.1 on a Mac. Returned and never actually operated it. Looks cool and lots of venting but false advertised connection port.

Im pleased. Its built decent, performs well, and keeps my drives relatively cool.
Ive had this enclosure (USB 3.0 + RAID) for a few months now and I'm very pleased. The build quality is pretty decent, though it feels pretty lightweight - especially the base which I wish was heavier. I'm running 2x4TB HGST 7200 RPM NAS drives and the heat management is impressive even though it lacks a fan. I do wish the power button was a bit more robust, and that it was positioned above cable inputs so that it was easier to access. Also, the LEDs are pretty bright - I plan on using a sharpie to fix this lol.As another reviewer mentioned, there is a unique method of mounting the drives into the enclosure. Took me a minute to figure out, but basically you screw in the rubber washers to the sides of the HDDs (should be 4 for each drive) and then you slide them into position locking them in with a floating metal bracket that snaps into place afterwards.
