Reolink really stepped up with this one!
Great picture quality, great privacy features, full static IP or DHCP, ONVIF, audio, reasonably low power usage when not in nightvision mode.... the best bit? the wifi range on these is incredible! As long as you have a good directional antenna on your wifi router/access-point... and as long as you replace one of the antennas on this with a directional antenna, you are going to be amazed at how far away you can position this camera - as long as the antennas are facing each other. Without directional antennas it is still at the top of the pack, however 300 yards is what we're running ours across, open line of sight with some trees on the side here and there, and we get maximum-bitrate full quality video and audio. It is a top-class camera, highly recommend it if you need one with wifi and the zoom so that you can mount it higher away from the reach of opportunist thieves. After reading some other reviews, I'd like to edit my review with some additional notes: I've attached some screenshots of the web-browser configuration facility. a) This camera can record 2560 x 1920 @ 25 frames per second upto 8Mb bitrate. b) You can disable UUID if you are not a fan of 'average user' low-security easy-setup features. c) You can have it so that it emails you a picture only, or a picture and a video or a video only when it detects movements. You can also have this motion detection footage sent to an FTP server for the techies out there. d) This camera does NOT require internet connection to function, but with UUID functionality it can work across the internet with access to the internet via your router. We chose to keep the camera disabled from internet access and relied upon its Onvif functionality to work with a software NVR (Milestone, highly recommended!). e) You can disable the infrared nightvision feature and the backlight feature, as well as the noise removal feature. Reolink have done what Hikvision charge silly money for, they have put together a great price high build quality camera with great image quality paired with full configuration ability, effectively this camera is right at home for basic-UUID app users as well as more advanced Onvif users. If I could wish for one feature, I would love to see them make the ethernet port a passthrough port so that the camera could allow other devices to use its ethernet facility to communicate across its wifi, like a bridge of sorts, simply add an extra configuration page to allow the techies a little more freedom to make even better use of the hardware. Also I would love to see these cameras in black! Maybe a more top-end line with more advanced features as above and replace the blue 'o' with a red 'o' in the ReoLink logo to denote the pro versions... just a thought. Our camera has NOT crashed, has never required a reboot, it just works, 24/7, it has been over a month and the camera has not let us down yet, if this changes rest assured I will update the review accordingly. However the build quality and the solid software facilities both phone app and web-gui are a cut above the rest and indeed it does appear ReoLink went the full mile and did their homework on this one. If you have problems with the camera, speak to their support, one of the few small companies which actually do respond to your emails and want to make absolutely certain that you have the camera running 100%. I did not get paid for this review, nor did I receive a free item or anything, I'm just happy to share my experience after going through a few returns of other manufacturer cameras and want to make sure you don't ignore this camera because of a misleading review. Usually the issues are mostly user inexperience/error, and on the rare occasion a simply hardware failure, the latter is easily resolved with an immediate return for replacement but the former is just down to the individual. I hope my review helps other Amazonians to make a better-informed choice.

Great Security camera
I ordered this camera after doing 2 days of non stop research on various cameras. I ordered it in May and it took almost three weeks to arrive as it was coming from France. They gave me 10% discount for the delay. Now to the installation. I read all the questions and was going to order a long etherlink cable but there is a cable included so I followed the steps, set it up but was not able to attach it outside for a few days due to rain. Once you have set the camera uo, you don't need the cable again. Once that was done, I had an issue of power supply through the loft which took a littlevwhile but once everything was set up, it was easy. I can watch it on my phone or tablet. The night vision, zoom and picture quality are all very good. My only isssue would be that it is not a continuous recording but in bursts of 30 seconds or a minute. It records even when the leaves are moving but it is not a problem. I had a problem with setting up the mail notifications and Sarah from Customer services was very good. If the truth be told, all the information is on Reolink web page. I guess as customers, we sometime need assurance. The camera looks big in the photos but it is compact and it really does pack a punch. So far, I am pretty pleased with the camera and the service. This camera should be a standard for other security cameras. My main reason for purchase of this specific camera was long range view as I have a long garden and this was the only camera giving me all I required . It is just perfect. I just hope that it lasts a long time. Thank you Reolink for creating this product. The only improvement may be needed would be to have continuous recording if there is a security breach.

RLC-511W... great bang-for-buck
This is a review of the 5MP WiFi model aka the RLC-511W. This camera was bought under a lightning deal and by far has been the best CCTV camera I've had the pleasure of working with (and I've worked with big boys like Axis). Setup was easy, the camera feels sturdy and the quality of the footage captured both day and night is amazing for the price point. The photos above demonstrate daytime, zoom, night time with IR and night time without IR. Software-wise, the camera happily works with ZoneMinder and Shinobi (two very good free / open source software-based NVRs) and I have had no issues to date. The Reolink Android App is a little limiting in configuration but you can navigate to the admin page with a web browser for more options. Sadly this interface requires Adobe Flash which you have to manually activate these days, it's unclear what the future of Flash will be in future browsers as companies like Google are trying to get away from Flash as much as possible. This may cause administration issues in future, Reolink should switch to HTML5 or another more modern method of accessing video. Forcing criticism here (and this is stretching), mounting can be slightly awkward as the stem / stand can foul the antennas in particular angles / orientations, so sometimes you have to be creative when installing it. It would also have been nice for the colouring of the cables to match the colour of the camera (black cables with a white camera stand out a little too much). Neither of these are show-stoppers. I haven't tested the SD card or motion detection built into the camera yet but will try it soon. All-in-all, one very good camera. I'll come back and amend my review if I find any issues.

Great picture - WHEN IT WORKED
Excellent picture, although only 4:3 on the highest resolution, not 16:9. However, the issue is that (the units I had anyway) locked up when the camera was rebooted. Now as the recommendation is to reboot the camera once a week to ensure smooth operation then this is quite the problem. The only way to clear the lockup is to perform a hard reboot - thus losing ALL YOUR SETTINGS! As the camera CANNOT be setup via wi-fi this involves removing the camera from its location so it can be physically plugged into your router to perform the initial setup again. Sorry, but I cannot be doing this every time I want to change a settings that involves a restart, or when the software wants to perfom a scheduled reboot as advised by the manufacturer. To be fair the company were quite attentive in responding to my emails (after going through some quite rudimentary troubleshooting) and wanted me to return it for replacement, erm, to their American office! Anyway, that was sorted out and they wanted me to return it to the UK office eventually, however as this is the second unit I've already received that has exhibited this behaviour then I had no alternative but to return to Amazon for a refund and to look elsewhere. Perhaps a firmware update would have sorted this problem, but none was available or offered to me.

Excellent Camera
I have tried various brands of cameras over the years and have yet to find one that really meets my requirements. Having just bought an iGeek one to replace a Wansview camera I was disappointed to say the least and thought it was time to try something different. This camera is very impressive out of the box. Feels well made and sturdy. It has an adjustment bracket that actually lets you point the camera exactly where you want rather than accept the limitations of the usual plastic rubbish supplied with other cameras. Cable length was generous too. For me though the big selling point was the set up firmware. Being old fashioned I set it up on my PC and it was such a breath of fresh air the way the menus had been laid out. I was pleased to say that email, ftp, push and movement detection were easy to set up. Picture quality was excellent, and the zoom function works just great. If I had any issue it is that there is a bit of a time lag on picture display, but maybe I am being fussy there. Only just installed it, if it carries on the way it is I will be very happy, but obviously I cannot comment on its long term reliability. At this time I would recommend this camera.

Great camera
For the price this is a very good outdoor camera and was straight forward to set up. The angle of view is amazing and aslong as you have good WiFi reception from the router to the camera then you'll have 5mp (high) reception otherwise it'll be low or medium ( balanced or fluent) which if it is low then you won't be able to read registration plates on vehicles. The only thing annoying is the bugs at night being attracted to the IR lights and then this inturn attracts the spiders! You then get the spiders webs and their movement across the lense of the camera cause false motion alerts and compromise the image quality. Unfortunately only if you turn off the IR lights and use a stand alone one will you cure this problem. Other than that like me you will just have to clean the lense as and when needed. I've tried all the documented remedies but none are effective. Overall a great dual band ip camera for the price.

Reolink RLC 511W - A really nice bit of kit
I have several cameras set up in the garden to watch for the wild life and especially to see when Hedgehogs etc (at night) make their return. Up to now I have had Wansview 2mp outdoor bullet cameras which are 2mp lenses. These have been fine and easy to view recorded clips via iSpy or Netcam as they do not have sd card support. I decided to pay a bit more and try the Reolink RLC 511W which has an Optical Zoom (better by far than digital) and a 5mp lens and unlike the Wansview cams, has sd card support. The difference in picture quality is quite remarkable both day and night time recording. The Reolink web support is first class both in responding to queries, FAQ and with downloads for viewing recordings via Windows computers Mac, iPad or Android whilst they in addition, have firmware updates for all the cameras. Given the camera was about £100 (but included extension power lead, fitting template and wall fittings in addition to power supply) plus the cost of any sd card, so about twice the price of my other cameras, the quality and flexibility made it really worth while from my point of view. Would I buy another Reolink - definitely and it might be the RLC-410W which although a 4mp lens at £60 might prove a more modestly priced 2nd camera to replace one of the 2mp Wansviews. Hope this helps, it is my review based on actually service and usage.

Used for birdwatching on feeders but a part missing
Image quality is good but watching live from a device over your house wifi it can be slow and jittery sometimes - mostly ok. The one problem was that a weather protection cover was missing from the box. I contacted the maker/seller but they to;d me to order and pay for the part on the website and then submit an invoice, rather than send me the part. I think this is very poor service for only 2 stars. Camera is ok though.

Fonctionne bien... 2 ans..

No hace barrido.

Bigger than expected, great quality image.
This is quite a chunky camera, but the image quality is great. I am using as a 'Generic/ONVIF' camera source in Blue Iris surveillance software, works well, Zoom can be controlled by choosing source PTZ control setting 'ONVIF(OXML)' for the Zoom. Audio levels is a bit low for my liking, but I don't have much experience with Cameras with built-in microphones, so not sure if this is 'as good as it gets'. As usual the photos conveniently leave out the ugly 'pigtail' of 3-to-1 cables for 12v Power, Network Cable (with waterproof gland) and Reset button. I wish they could make these neater or removable, especially when you don't need 2 out of 3 of them (i.e. connecting via Wifi, only Power needed) This is my 3rd Reolink camera, been happy with the price/quality level so far. A generous 12v power cable extension lead (& power adapter) comes in the box.
