Minor's Clam Base, 16 Ounce

I just made the best clam chowder ever! I was skeptical about buying it because of the price, but it's worth it. You only need to use 1 Tbl. Of clam base to 1 Qt. Water so the container will last awhile or make a lot of chowder. I'm finishing my 3rd bowl as we speak.

Great umami flavor to my Clam Chowder. No fishy taste at all.

This is one of many many clam bases I’ve tried that I purchased and love the flavor of this one. I’m forever getting compliments on my clam chowder and it all has to do with this clam base.

I like the flavor clam base but it is exceedingly salty. Can only use very small amount

I used to use another brand until they stopped making it and I'm glad they did. I found this one and while, it's not the cheapest around, it's certainly the best. If you're looking to go all out and buy fresh clams for a chowder or whatnot, then invest in this to use as a base instead of plain water, you'll be very happy with it (as a clam maybe? lol). It freezes very well, so once you use what you need, pop it in your freezer and take out accordingly. It's lasted for months in my freezer and is still as good as when I purchased it.

Nothing beats real clam broth from steaming at home but this is the best substitute I’ve found. The bottled stuff is sort of ok but this actually makes a drinkable broth and can transform canned clams.

Good base

Do not salt before using. Very salty. Does not give flavor of canned or commercial clam chowder.
