would this solar panel system work for a swimming pool (13,000 gal) in southern Ohio climate in summer or to extned a bit the swimming season?

Hello,With two panels the temperature increase on a 13,000 gallon pool would not be noticeable. Also this kit includes all the parts needed to connect to a water heater, which would be useless for connecting to a pool.For pools you need a large collector area so to use this type of setup you would have to put up a large array of these panels. I would go with 3 panels but you can always start with two and add on. I love my system and save about $30.00 per month on my electric bill. I have a 6 panel system and live in Tampa fl. In the summer I can turn off the breaker for the water heater and use only solar

I have a 100 gal livestock water tank. I want to keep the water from freezing. Can I pump the water into the panel and drain back to the tank?

Hello,In general it is possible to do what you are thinking about, however this kit would include many parts you don't need for this project, because it is designed to connect to a standard water heater. There is one very important issue with doing this which is that the water in the panels cannot be allowed to freeze so you would have to use a two stage system with antifreeze circulating through the panel and a heat exchanger. Basically it is a lot cheaper and simpler to just keep the water agitated so that it cannot freeze. If that is not a possibility you should look at our GS Solar Water heaters as they could be adapted to your project.Thank You,Heliatos Solar

The panels and kit were shipped pretty quickly , installation instructions were good and it was easy to get the system online. the system seems to be well built and looks like it will last awhile. we have a 40 gallon water heater and the 2 panel kit would get the water warm but not hot, in all fairness it was " winter " here in Hawaii, and Heliatos suggests 1 panel per 10 gallons in this location. We ended up ordering an additional 2 panels in an attempt to eliminate the propane even during winter. the 4 panel system now provides all the hot water we can use.

Everything went together smoothly and the system generates hot water. Probably will be able to turn the breaker off shortly and use this exclusively for hot water during most of the year here in florida.

Works well and is easy to install.

It comes with everything you need to install. The water is heated rapidly if you have an area of full sun for the panels. I bought a 4 panel system and it handles 2 small apartments with plenty of hot water.

Great alternative to expensive solar water heaters

Very complete kit, cheap way to cut down your electric bill. Mine is only assisting the hot water heater, typically covering all of our hot water needs during the day.

Great value and performance

I installed the 6-panel system about a month ago and the results are incredible! During daylight hours you can use all the hot water you want because the recovery time was so quick. Even the water stored in the tank (my old water heater)overnight is still 140 degrees in the morning. You only need the assistance of the heating element in the old water heater if you have long periods of rain or overcast conditions. The system is a must buy and we are super pleased with the results!
