would this solar panel system work for a swimming pool (13,000 gal) in southern Ohio climate in summer or to extned a bit the swimming season?

Hello,With two panels the temperature increase on a 13,000 gallon pool would not be noticeable. Also this kit includes all the parts needed to connect to a water heater, which would be useless for connecting to a pool.For pools you need a large collector area so to use this type of setup you would have to put up a large array of these panels. I would go with 3 panels but you can always start with two and add on. I love my system and save about $30.00 per month on my electric bill. I have a 6 panel system and live in Tampa fl. In the summer I can turn off the breaker for the water heater and use only solar

Is there any way to get this to work during the winter in a freezing climate (Pennsylvania)?

Hello,This system circulates water through the panels which will freeze and destroy the panels. You have to either drain it before any freeze or consider a freeze protected system (GH type system like Amazon ASIN B00IM1SZ4M ).Thank You,Heliatos Solar

I have a 100 gal livestock water tank.  I want to keep the water from freezing.  Can I pump the water into the panel and drain back to the tank?

Hello,In general it is possible to do what you are thinking about, however this kit would include many parts you don't need for this project, because it is designed to connect to a standard water heater. There is one very important issue with doing this which is that the water in the panels cannot be allowed to freeze so you would have to use a two stage system with antifreeze circulating through the panel and a heat exchanger. Basically it is a lot cheaper and simpler to just keep the water agitated so that it cannot freeze. If that is not a possibility you should look at our GS Solar Water heaters as they could be adapted to your project.Thank You,Heliatos Solar
