Works like a charm
A friend of mine had these for her cats and they seemed to work so I figured I’d give it a try. Works like a charm. Cats stay off counters and out of bathtubs. Lightweight and easy to cut down to size needed

Does not last flat
This comes rolled up do when you try to lay it on a flat surface, it keeps coming up. Have had mine a month and the one side still isn't laying flat. It's not like a rubber mat or even heavy. It's hard to explain the plastic. It is a very hard plastic though and the spikes are not rubbery or anything. They're actually pretty stiff and can hurt. Hasn't hurt my furbabies though but they've also stayed away from that counter. They haven't been on my counter since laying this across it. I would say this definitely achieved my goals of keeping my cats off the counters.

Save your money!
I had originally seen this at de Soto, the Japanese dollar store. They were in squares that were approximately 13 x 13 but since there wasn’t a store close to me I thought it would be easier to order online. When it came it was in one long roll and you had to cut it into sections. It wasn’t as wide as the ones that I saw in the store and these are definitely not of the same quality. But I definitely paid a lot more for this then if I would’ve just gone to the store to buy them for their dollar 50 each panel. I had originally seen this at day so, the Japanese dollar store. Can’t tell you if it’s effective because my dogs seem to still jump in my garden

Useful for training my dog to stay off furnishings
Bought them to help train my dog to stay off the bed. Has been super useful in that regard. They were just hard to use in the beginning as they were rolled up so tight they were impossible to use without rolling up without weights on the ends. Once we got them to lay flat we got a hook to hang them against the wall for quick use when we leave the house and not having to hurt ourselves trying to roll them up awkwardly. So while very good at what I bought them for using them has been a hassle as them ship in a tight spiral that makes them nearly impossible to use.

Finally; encouraged the squirrels to bury nuts elsewhere
My condo has a nice little shaded second-floor patio I've 'landscaped' with large pots of ferns. There is a squirrel who resides in the tree in front of my street, easy branch jumping distance apparently, who developed a penchant for burying nuts in the soil of my pots. Every time I came out onto the patio, there were destroyed ferns and piles of soil all over the ground. This product solved the problem: I used scissors to cut out strips and arrange them around the soil in the pots (around the stems of the plants). No more buried nuts. However: it is a pain to install because the material will NOT lay flat. I had to pick up landscaping fabric pins (you know, those U-shaped metal dohickeys) at the local garden center to secure each strip along the edges. If you want to use, you *will* need to buy such pins (or other anchoring devices) and you *will* have to install over soil (large pots, garden beds). You CANNOT use it on your sofa or car as the product description suggests -- it's misleading. That said, it was easy to cut and 100% solved my problem (the low brown spikes aren't noticeable under the fern leaves, on the soil, so the landscaping isn't impacted).

Cat-proof your house plant
The product has done a great job of keeping my two cats out of the pot despite them being very tricky, smart, hard working, and dedicated to killing that plant by drowning it in urine. The trick is not to simply lay it down in the pot but to cut out wedges out of one side, fold the top in on itself (making a cone shape) and the zip-tie-ing it to itself. It takes a bit of work to set up (don’t forget to put it around your plan before the zip-ties), but it’s worth the kitty-proof fortress you end up with. Your plants will thank you. Now wish me luck in flushing out the urine…

Too little for too high a price.
For the regular price of almost $19 w/o tax this product should be at least 1 FOOT WIDE & 3-4 FEET LONG. I'm trying to teach my kittens that the dining room table is not their playground, but w/ even 2 rolls it doesn't cover the entire table (it is a normal 6-8 person oval table). I was lucky to have been able to get them on sale, but now I wish I'd bought more. The other issue is that I remember reading that the rolls should be stored with the pointy sides out for ease of placement, yet they come the exact opposite way and I had to weigh them for days before Alien Tape was strong enough to keep it from rolling back up. That is also another issue. At the $19 price they should come with at least twist ties (luckily I have saved some from bread bags and cut them in half to use as a method to attach multiple pieces together; I originally tried the bread bag clips but they barely work and seem more like a toy for the kittens to play with). The Alien Tape was the most useful item to keep the rolls flat though.Yes, it deters the kittens from lounging on the edges of the table, but they simply wait for someone to sit the mail, a plate, or anything else flat on the table to get up on the table and then it's like they are laughing at us (as in standing on the mail and looking straight at us until the second they think we can grab them - and yes, we've tried the water bottle method!).So, my complaints are: the regular cost!; the size, both length and length; how they are stored in the original packaging; and lastly they should come with attachment items; oh, my fiance' tried making a fence out of it by standing it on it's end around the Christmas Tree. That was a joke. The kittens simply pretended to be horses jumping over their Olympic obstacles. So don't think they will be useful that way. Will I buy it again? Not until it's on a huge sale!!! (40% off or more) Whoever priced this product was way off on it's value.
