Protects lens and adds a bit of a retro look to the Nikon 24-70 2.8 s lens On the Nikon Zf
I sometimes like to use no lens hood when I’m doing walk around or travel photography. I got this to protect the lens, and as a bonus the silver color kind of helps give my 24-70 2.8s a more retro look to match my Nikon zf

So far really good for the price
Returned the shaky, dusty $16 "Tiffen 82UVP Slim 82mm UV Protection Filter for Camera Lens" and bought this instead. The quality is so much better. the glass doesn't shake in the frame. It seems solid. It came in a nylon pouch, wrapped in fiber cloth that left a few dust dots which were easy to blow off. The filter set in and turned easily in my Nikkor 24mm-70mm lens, unlike the gritty first filter. Sometimes you get what you pay for. I still haven't gone into daylight to shoot photos to test clarity. Maybe it will be a 5-star (or could be reduced...but the fitting and integrity seem nice.)

Tiffin is the Bomb on my Mirrorless Cameras
I have tried a lot of UV and ND filters for my Canon mirrorless lenses. I even bought an expensive system that used magnet attachments. I had problems with all of them except the Tiffin filters. I do not have hot spots with these filters even in the direct sun of the Southwest. They also work well when glare is present such as with water shots. I do not think for the money you can get a better filter. My colors also remain consistent and true to shooting without a filter.

Recommended by professionals
This brand and product were recommended to me by professionals. Lenses for cameras are an investment, and the most vulnerable part of them is the lens. By putting a UV Protector on the lense (which run from about $8-$20), protects the glass of your lense without changing the look of your photo. If the lens protector gets scratched it costs much less to replace than your lens.

Good quality for price
Whether you are in the mandatory UV filter camp or not, this is a good filter for the price to protect the lens element and threads when you need it.

Extremely Disappointing, but maybe okay I guess?
I ordered a couple of these filters in a hurry after buying a new, very expensive lens, and honestly, was just in a hurry to put something on it. I figured I'd replace all my other 77mm filters at the same time. I'm a professional photographer and do a lot of volume on the go, so when I saw one of the filters had a BIG scratch across it I breathed a sigh of relief that this filter protected my glass!... until, that was, I noticed not even a month later with minimal use that another lens with this filter had a scratch about the same depth in it. I work my lenses hard, but not THAT hard. A more expensive lens filter I had on for years didn't even have close to the length or depth of these scratches. I can't say for sure that something in my bag wasn't sharp and scratching everything up, but I definitely don't think these filters are as protective as other, more expensive ones. If your lens has a very easy life/lives in a studio, sure, this will protect it from dust and finger prints, but I don't think it's going to save it from a fall or direct hit. I wouldn't buy again unless I was literally in a camera store buying a new lens and it was the only protective filter on site. Something is better than nothing, but in this case, I'd just save your money and buy better.
