We just purchased a very large pot to cook French fries, and onion rings from scratch. This is something that we used to do when I was growing up so it really means a lot to be able to do this with my family that I created. So many wonderful memories. When you cook in oil, like for French fries, you don’t want to throw out the oil each time. This is just too expensive. The best thing to do is to strain your oil through the metal strainer that is included with this pot. Then you put the lid on until the next time that you will be cooking foods in hot oil. The 4 quart size means that it is big enough so that we can use it for big gatherings, or small gatherings. It doesn’t matter, this pot with the strainer and lid that fit’s snuggly tight. And I can tell you from experience, this is a great strainer, and oil/grease holder. It’s super easy to use, and super sturdy. Just what you need if its main purpose is to hold oil/grease. And to top it off, it looks nice. Not sloppy and like this was an afterthought. The price is incredibly fair.

This is a very sturdy container. The strainer does a good job and the lid does snap down well. The bottom is weighted so should not easily get tipped over. It would be nice if it came with a tray to set it in but even without a tray I do still recommend it. Much higher quality than I was expecting. Even the strainer seems very well made and sturdy.

It was enough for the oil I needed to store. I liked the strainer with it but it's not enough to pick up the particles. I highly recommend purchase a cheesecloth. My first line of defense is the strainer then the cheesecloth. I totally disagree that the container creates an air-tight seal. I thought that by putting the strainer in the container created an airtight hold but it still didn't. I put my oil in my fridge to try and extend the life of the used oil still. So far so good but it hasn't been long enough to say how much of a tight seal impacts the longevity of the oil. I know that if the container tilts, the oul with seal. However, i do enjoy not havinge a deep fryer on my stove because I didn't have a place to store my used oil.

This container is great. The strainer gets all the little bits out so the oil stays clean. It looks nice on the counter and holds a lot.

This is perfect. We have an 8 cup deep fryer and this grease can will hold about the right amount. We use the Sulu brand grass fed tallow. If you put a large paper coffee filter in the screen basket then pour your tallow or bacon grease (or both!) into the filter and let it drain through you get beautiful and clean oil for the next round. We reuse our seasoned oil up to 10 times when it is filtered like this. It makes for delicious fries!

Well made and easy to use

This thing is heavy and built like a tank. I love it. It has a built-in screen that easily pops right out. I usually put a piece of paper towel in it and then when the grease cools down, I put it in there really shifting it not only from its own screen, but it has to go through the paper towel that catches pretty much everything to get you some pure oil back. I like that you can leave the screen in place and put the lid on and put it in your refrigerator. Very convenient you don’t lose the screen. I mean it doesn’t change any of the volume you can put in this thing. Very well made very good design. Definitely the way I store oil now to help preserve it and reuse.

Extremely heavy on the bottom. It doesn't say if it's to prevent tip-overs or for insulation purposes. Good idea, nevertheless. Until now, I had no reason to question the level of my countertops or table. The product has a slight wobble to it, like it has a little convex on the bottom. Whether it's just mine or it's deliberate, I like it! Again there's no mention for it but as a centrifugal force, it should prove extremely useful! Quite possibly, why it's so heavy on the bottom.
