We wanted to add a touch of sparkle to our refurb and took the plunge with this Holographic Glitter additive. Never having experienced it before, we were somewhat trepidatious.LOCATION: Hall and stairsBASE LAYER: Off White painted onto blown vinyl woodchip type paper.NEW PAINT: 2.5lt Leyland Silk Emulsion - in an off white colourAdded; 1 whole packet of Holo GlitterOK so this wasn't for a 10 year olds bedroom and required to be a 'mass' of sparkles. I think maybe for that effect you'd be better off finding suitable wall paper. We were going for the subtle, magical, catch the glints in the light effect.Pour the glitter into the paint pot and stir, really, really well. It helps if there's 2 of you, one to pour and one to stir.Don't get scared!Once you dumped the whole packet in, it literally disappears and you can't see any of it!We applied the paint with a medium roller. We had less issues with any sort of patchiness or needing 2 coats as were were applying a light colour over a light colour. If you're changing base colours or are using a deeper shade you'll probably need to do more coats.You still can't see any glitter at this point.....don't panic.Next you WAIT. Be patient, wait for it to dry off. Not hours and hours bone dry, but wait until it's touch dry at least.Now for the magic. Grab your scouring pad (comes in the glitter pack) and lightly scour the wall. Step back and admire the magic as it shines through.Can highly recommend you cover as much of the floor as possible with dust sheets before you scour! The place begins to look a bit like a Unicorn sneezed and farted at the same time! Once you get the dust sheets up and vacuum round the edges the excess glitter does seem to disappear pretty rapidly thank goodness.Now we just have a nice clean refreshed hall and stairs with added magic, that catches the light as you move about. It's really fantastical and quite effective.Go on, be brave, give it a go 😁

I had previously used valspar ultrafine glitter which was beautiful and is still going strong on mu wall 4 years later! But they are discountinued. So I tried this one. It’s definitely shiny but when mixed into a light coloured paint, any particles that don’t buff to the surface remain as dark spots so it dulls the colour from a distance as the particles are bigger.It might look nice in a darker colour.I also like to use Silk paint so I wasn’t satisfied with how much I needed to ‘buff’ the surfaces. I hadn’t needed to buff the valspar glitterGood delivery and product packaging though.

Used this in my gym/office on the ceiling mixed with a French grey. The glitter is not too over the top but just perfect. When the light hits it it's beautiful

This glitter additive definitely exceeded my expectation and I couldn't be more happy! The buffer it comes with to go over the dried paint does it's job so well and delivered that sparkle i envisioned for my shelves 🫶🏼 I've completed multiple projects after those and still have half a bag left. I'll buy again in the future, it's a craft staple for me now 👏🏼

Das Glitzer kommt sorgfältig verpackt in einem stabilen Beutel mit so einem Zipper Plastik Verschluss.Ich habe das Glitzer mit der Wandfarbe „kornblumen blau“ von „schöner Wohnen“ verwendet. Für dieses Glitzer, behaupte ich, eine unschlagbare Kombination. Die Nische mit Dachschräge, die ich damit gestrichen habe sieht am Tag wunderschön aus und das Funkeln kommt gut zur Geltung ohne billig auszusehen. Am Abend mit künstlichem Licht funkelt diese Nische wie ein echter Sternenhimmel und ist absolut atemberaubend, weil es so toll glitzert und das Glitzer am besten wirkt auf dunklen Farben, wenn man einen sehr gut sichtbaren Effekt haben möchte.Die Dosierung habe ich gewählt, wie es bei dem Glitzer empfohlen wurde, also ein Beutel auf etwa 2l Farbe.Es bietet sich an die Wand bei starker Farbveränderung erstmal die Wand ohne Glitzer zu streichen und wenn das Farbergebnis was deckend ist eine letzte Schicht zu streichen, in der das Glitzer eingerührt ist.Das Glitzer hält gut an der Wand.Ich bin extrem froh, dass das Ergebnis mit diesem Glitzer so toll wurde und würde es jederzeit sehr empfehlen. Traut euch unbedingt und probiert es aus. Ich kann mich gar nicht dran satt sehen und es sieht so unglaublich edel und geschmackvoll aus.
