These are decent tension rods for this size and style, and they work well as long as you keep expectations realistic. At the end of the day, these are small hollow extension rods, so they can only hold so much weight. I use these in a few different ways. A lot of the time I use them vertically inside cabinets or drawers to keep items like cutting boards from falling over, or to section off a space for organization. They also work well for hanging small, light to medium weight curtains. One tip that makes a big difference is sizing. They tend to slip more when they are extended close to their maximum length. They hold best when the rod is more compressed and fits snugly, because the tension is stronger against the ends. If possible, choose the longest size that will still shrink down enough to fit tightly in your space. I have not noticed any damage to walls, but I am careful during installation. The rubber ends generally protect well, but if you need an extra-tight fit or are concerned about a delicate surface, you could add a small cushion between the rubber end and the wall. Works well to keep items on the shelf in the fridge in my camper. The rubber feet were plenty grippy enough for my use. They just have to keep things from sliding off the shelf while we are driving. They don’t have any weight hanging from them.

I needed something to hang curtains in my office at work. These were perfect. They hold long, heavy-ish curtains with no problems. They have been up since September with no issues at all, so very stable and sturdy. The look and color are exactly as pictured. The bonus was how easy they were to install.

I purchased these for the pantry cupboard in our RV. I used one to keep things in place on a stationary shelf and it worked great. However, the other three did not stay in place. Our pantry has three sliding drawers and I always put a bungee cord around the handles to keep it closed while traveling. I purchased the tension rods as extra insurance on keeping the drawers from banging against the inside of the cupboard doors. Even though there was very little weight in the drawers, the rods did not withstand the trip. Glad that I continued to use the bungee cord as an extra precaution.

This fits my need for hanging up small kids clothes in a small cabinet. Tension is strong. Would buy again

Useless product with no strength

I purchased these to add a rail to a small broom cupboard I have. I was able to put a few formal shirts and trousers on hangers but as soon as I added jeans to the situation, the rod would fall down. I’d say this product doesn’t perform like a thick rail you would have in a wardrobe. I’m still going to use them for light items in other places.
