There are six (6) heat settings. The 5th is for cotton fabrics and the 6th is for linen fabrics. **Q: Where is this made?** A: I have no idea where it is made. I returned it as it had an USA plug fitting and it was too expensive to buy an adapter to use in the UK. The steam reservoir outlet ring fell off 2 days ago, haven't used the steam yet, but no big deal. Black & Decker has a nearly identical model the F67E. Brentwood is probably a Black & Decker product under another name. Had problems in the last couple months with irons, this was the 3rd iron I've bought since early May. Bought a Black & Decker from Walmart, stopped working the next day. Sunbeam stopped working the next day.
