The aim of the Hardie product is to replace caulking on cut ends
The aim of the Hardie product is to replace caulking on cut ends. Hardie does not represent caulk because the color changes and it can shrink. Using this product caulking is not necessary and it is easy to use, comes with different applicator - but the real test will be in a couple of years to see if it effectively sealed the cut ends of the siding and does prevent water intrusion as promised.

Too Expensive - Applicators are garbage
Don't waste your money on this James Hardie touch up paint. The coverage is garbage and the applicators are pathetic. We were really disappointed. We actually purchased this twice from the same place because it was the only seller on Amazon that carried the product during this self quarantine COVID event, and we were in the middle of replacing our siding when Safe at Home was started. I don't know anything about the seller, Colonial Handsplits except it took almost two weeks to get the product.
