Jacobs Twiglets Original 150 g (Pack of 6)

These used to be lovely and Marmitey and the stick bit was the vehicle to get it to the mouth. Now they hardly taste of anything except compressed bran floor sweepings. I use them to scoop out Marmite from the jar which now makes up for their shortcomings but like everything else they have been dumbed-down, desalted, skimped on and generally ruined. One wonders whether anyone in these food companies from the Chairman downwards take the trouble to taste their own products or indeed if they have any taste buds at all!

So we stopped at a British Pub when visiting the Finger Lakes in New York and had a delightful chat with the owner (authentically British) and server who were behind the bar. They mentioned Twiglets as a favorite snack so we had to try them. Very interesting and addictive taste. Somewhat of a charred or burnt taste but in an oddly good way. They're a bit expensive but a truly delightful snack. They may not be for everyone but we devour them quickly every time we open a bag.
