For rear, bar clamps didn't work (for me), as the bigger & beefier tire "had no place to go" because the bar was in the way. Slapped together a breaker with old 2x4s & door hinge. Used pipe clamps to pinch this device and it worked better than bar clamps. That is the limit of the "universal" fitment. If, like me, you have 8mm holes on your rims and don't feel bad drilling them out.... They are universal. If you don't want to drill into your rims, these ain't for you. **Q: I don’t want to over tighten them but they still tend to twist. Could I put a dab of locktite on the nut, or should that affect the rubber?** A: I've had no issues with them wanting to twist. I don't recall the manufacture a torque speck.
