Patak's Madras Spice Paste, Hot Indian Curry with 11 Expertly Blended Spices, No Artificial Colors, Gluten-Free & Vegan, Bold Base for Home Cooking & More, 10 oz Jar

Have used this for years, probably in excess in most of my curry recipes. Excellent with grilled fish and rice, or in beef/onion/grape tomato stir fry. Spicy, yes, but also a complex of flavors that mitigate the rawness of simply hot peppers. A little can go a long way for some, or you can revel in the power of it if you’re like me.

I have been experimenting with Indian foods to see if there is anything I like that I can make from home. This was it...after I have tried many types of ethnic foods this one is the one I like the most.

pataks is always good

This is my favorite spice paste, it's hot but only just, not extreme. The flavor and smell are universally good in most recipes. I typically get 3 or 4 meals out of each jar so the $10 price point is reasonable. And most importantly, it always arrives super-well packaged, triple wrapped in bubble wrap. It could just use a crumple of paper so it didn't roll back and forth in the box a few inches. But it's never arrived broken.

Spicey not hot. Wanted to try the paste for lentils. Next day, not even that Spicey. Even though it is expensive, can't find in my area stores. Will most likely buy again.

I've used this curry paste before, always with great results. It's a "hot" blend but not crazy hot. Excellent consistency and flavor. BTW Pataks pastes, chutneys etc. are all excellent. Received product wrapped in bubble wrap inside a box, great.

Patak makes great curry paste, that I have used for years but this purchase experience was bad. It's in a glass jar so why on earth did they ship it in a recycled brown paper envelope with just one thin layer of bubble wrap. It's a miracle the glass jar wasn't smashed, but it had leaked all over as can be seen in the photo's. There was a label stuck on the bubble wrap, saying "This is a set, DO NOT Separate." I had ordered only one jar not a set. Red flag here for sure.

Delivery was very prompt and the product is the usual top quality Pataks quality
