Perfect🩺
This stethoscope works really well. It’s comfortable to wear, picks up heart and lung sounds clearly, and feels durable. Perfect for both students and professionals.

Extremely lightweight, good enough sound. No more irritated neck!
From a respiratory therapists' perspective: Good value for the money. Sound quality is at least x4 better from the yellow disposable scopes in the stock room. I would compare it to a littman II lightweight that I lost during a shift. Yes the littman II lightweight might feel more robust, but the black on black on this scope looks sleek. The only downside i've found is that the earpieces need to be in a good position to get great sound, once you get that all set there hasn't been any issues at all listening to my patients. The biggest plus of this scope is that it is extremely lightweight to the point where I almost forget I have it hanging on my neck! I have a litman III classic that is absolutely amazing at listening no matter what position the earpieces are in, but it's just too heavy to wear around my neck through a whole 12 hour shift. Lightweightness: 10/10 Lung sounds: 8/10 Quality: 7/10 Price: Amazing

A high quality stethoscope from MDF, but it's still a cheap $10 scope so consider your needs first
This was my first ever stethoscope, purchased in 2017 as an undergrad pre-med student. I purchased the translucent red color for $9.99. The color is more of a see-through hot pink, rather than a red matte color. It was so much prettier than I expected! MDF hands down has the best looking scopes at an exceptional price point. I got it to go with a White Coat brand BP cuff and to practice listening to basic heart & lung sounds on myself, family, and my very unwilling cats (lol!) I didn't have high expectations considering the price. As I've gained experience I've began to notice the distinct sound quality differences between this and my RN/med student friend's scopes. Specifically: now that I know what sounds to listen for I can recognize that it is the sound quality that is limiting me when using this scope and not my novice ears. This stethoscope does not provide the auscultation quality that a student needs. When it comes to this type of tool, quality truly dictates price. You will not hear soft sounds that require auditory precision. You might be able to pick up a murmur if it is loud enough and have well-trained ears, but this is definitely no cardio scope so don't expect it to be. You can hear wheezes but rhonchi/rales might not be detectable. Basic heartbeat/breath sounds/intestinal sounds are clear and loud, but if you need this tool to be more than "basic" then you shouldn't even be wasting time looking at something under $20. It is, however, a fantastic basic scope to have around the house, toss in a drawer by the first-aid kit, use on pets, throw in a medic kit or bug-out bag. It is super cheap and gets the job done. This is a great scope for when you want to have the option of having it in the kit but not have to worry about it getting lost/damaged/destroyed in a flood/eaten by zombies. It fits the bill for medic kit really well for this specific reason. It's also great for pets and for taking BP. At this price you can basically buy these just to play with, heck give one to your kid and play doctor. This MDF Lightweight was excellent for a $10 stethoscope. It is not flimsy, the color is gorgeous, it is durable, and definitely provides adequate sound quality in a pinch. I've had it for years and the tubing is not hardened or "sticky". It is however, MDF's lowest quality stethoscope, as reflected by the price, and this model is possibly discontinued because I don't see it on the MDF Seller's main page. As I expand my knowledge and skills I will be purchasing one of MDF's higher quality stethoscopes. As far as comfort goes I prefer how these sit in my ears over Littmann. MDF has fantastic colors and equivalent sound quality at prices typically >$30 cheaper than a Littmann of the same quality class. If you are looking for a quality but reasonably priced stethoscope I'll share my thoughts on other MDF products I am currently looking at: MDF MD One Titanium - $80 Lightweight and long lasting titanium in variety of cute colors. Comes with interchangeable adult/pediatric chest pieces. Most expensive option I am considering. MDF have a cardio and a titanium cardio that are in the $100+ range but I'm not ready for that kind of commitment nor do I need it. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B014DWLXK6/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?smid=A1AUY345WIU0B5&psc=1 MDF MD One - Solid colors $55. Super cool designs like galaxy/candy skulls/camo/rose gold $100 I'll most likely get one of these in a solid color. These seem solidly high quality from the reviews, it all depends how much you're willing to spend for a unique design. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000I3PUE0/ref=biss_dp_t_asn MDF Acoustica Deluxe - These range in price depending on color at $25 / $40 / $60. I may get one of these in a solid color as a step up from the one I'm currently reviewing. I trust MDF quality and expect it will be far superior to my current one but realistically inferior to their more expensive models (the MD One or Cardio). https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000QZ1LYS/ref=ox_sc_act_title_5?smid=A1AUY345WIU0B5&th=1 **I have not personally had experience with the MDF stethoscopes above, but I trust MDF quality and customer service and those are the three upgrade options I'm considering** I want to eventually upgrade to the MD One Titanium, but I'll wait until I have some money to burn. MDF has lifetime warranty on parts and they have my vote of confidence with a variety of models for different needs and tastes, plus they look fantastic.

MDF® Dual Head Lightweight Stethoscope
I'm a Respiratory Therapy student (a "mature" one) and I was looking for a/an 1) highly rated 2) low cost 3) decent quality 'scope for school, and an 4) unusual color to make it easy to spot if someone else "borrowed" it. For the record, I also own an UltraScope, but that's stashed 'til after I graduate. That said, I actually bought this one by accident, because of the color. I meant to buy the uber-highly rated MDF® Acoustica Deluxe Lightweight Dual Head Stethoscope. After receiving this scope and giving it a thorough once-over, I can tell you that it is very lightweight, the color is awesome, and it appears very well made, even if the parts are made in China. It comes with a small packet of spare parts, including a nametag. What kept me from returning this one in favor of the Acoustica was going to MDF's website and discovering how easy they make it to register (to take advantage of the lifetime free parts). And I did not get an avalanche of junk email after I registered, which is the usually the case with online registrations! So, I'm very pleased with this 'scope, and I assume it will at least get me through school. Worse comes to worst, I'll find a deserving first-year student to pass it on to, and grab an Acoustica then!

Good, inexpensive scope
Wanted a stethoscope to have at home to take BPs. This does the trick and I can hear pretty well. It’s not the quality of a more expensive one, but I’d recommend it.

Great backup. Not for students.
I purchased this as an inexpensive alternative to hold me over until my Littman came back to me. This does work better than the disposable isolation stethoscopes and did well as a back-up stethoscope. I was thankful it had a dual bell. The smaller side amplified best but both sides required a lot more pressure applied to hear fine breath sounds -- like rales or crackles -- than I was accustomed to or cared to use on some of my patients with thoracic trauma. The difference is that even the little sounds could potentially change what therapy is required for the patient. It isn't the best I've ever used, but it certianly did the job in a pinch. I do not recommend this stethoscope for students. Here's why; when you are learning breath, heart, & bowel sounds you need to hear them fully to understand what you're listening too and differentiate between the nuances. Once you know these minuscule differences I think that this stethoscope is an option.

Nice stethoscopes
I purchased this stethoscope and they looked good, but just not the right ones. They felt sort of lightweight, and needed a little weight on them.

MDF is my go-to brand for a Stethoscope.
This stethoscope is light weight. I can wear it around my neck all day and forget it's there. The value is outstanding. The sound quality is good to excellent. My hearing is not 100% but I have no trouble hearing heart or lung sounds with this. I'm rough on my equipment, working out of my car doing home visits and the heat in Florida is no joke when you are in and out of the car all day. Other brands tubing can become stiff or brittle, MDF has remained as flexible as it was out of the box. The warranty can't be beat.

Excellent set!
Fantastic stethoscope for the money! Although I bought this to listen to my husband's heart and ensure he has a steady beat, it works great taking blood pressures too. I turn it to the small side and listen to our furbabies as well. With our oldest getting up there in age it's handy to ensure her heart is beating steady. I also listen to abdominal sounds both human and dog. Perfectly clear and loud sounds. Money well spent.
