Actually works—and it’s surprisingly fun
This doesn't feel like cheap plastic toys that breaks the third time you swing it. This one is different. Right out of the box, you can tell the build quality is sturdy; it has some actual weight to it and doesn't flex when you're hunting down a fast-moving target. The USB recharging is a huge win. There’s nothing more annoying than needing to zap a mosquito only to realize your AA batteries are dead. As for performance, it works incredibly well. It delivers a satisfying pop that lets you know the job is done. Honestly, it’s become a bit of a game for me and it’s very entertaining to defend the patio and zap the bugs that were otherwise planning to eat me alive.

Great product
This zapper works exactly as described by seller. The first time I caught a fly with it the zapping noise surprised me.

Even Blind Friendly!
As a blind individual, I am always on the Amazon lookout for products that might prove useful to me. Whether it's cooking, cleaning, baking, boiling water, etc, I'm always on the lookout. I've found many useful products here on Amazon, and some, like this ZapIt, are a complete and utter surprise. Being blind, I don't have to tell you, makes catching flies a grade A pain in the rear. I could never get them with my shoe, and my bug killing friend told me I needed a fly swatter. 'Fine,' I thought. 'Let me find something that'll be easy for him to use. Something that has good reviews.' Logged into Amazon and went on my search. I thought this little fly killer sounded not only useful, but fun. I figured he might enjoy it. What I never expected was that this ZapIt is usable by someone with little to no vision as well. How is that even possible? Simple. Step 1: Listen for fly. Step 2: Grab ZapIt. Step 3: This might take a lot longer than it might take a sighted person, but I've had success with merely crouching in a spot of sunlight or angling the racket so that the mesh catches some light if it's daytime. I've enough vision to be able to tell when that happens. Remain very, very still, and angle the racket in the direction the fly appears to be flying when it's buzzing around you. When the fly nears, I press down on the Zap button and hold it down while slowly maneuvering the racket toward the sound. Sometimes it takes a while, but when that little bugger is caught, the ZapIt makes a loud *ZAP* sound and, as mentioned, you can smell the little blighter frying. It's not perfect. It can be really irritating. But it is a viable option for killing those bugs you can hear if you can't see. You'll know when you've got it. If I could give this ten stars, I would. I can tell if the battery is low as well, because that light is bright enough for me to see. I just flick its switch to check the power levels. Better than sticking your finger into the mesh and trying to zap yourself to figure it out. XD

Doesn't work & not returnable!
I can't tell if it even works other than the LED light, but like a previous version is a whole lot better. This is an updated version of A Zap Racket I got several years ago. The one thing I like a lot better on the Zap Racket is that the light doesn't stay on all the time. It comes on each time I press the button to zap a fly a fly which is perfect & in my humble opinion is the way it should work. The newer version, the Zap It, the light is on all the time or you turn it off & have to turn it on manually when you go hunting for the little black bugs that are driving you crazy. Perhaps mine is defective but I don't like that feature. I either have leave it on all day & drain the battery or I have to take the time to turn it on & then try to find the black critter that has been driving me crazy. The description says "Press the activation button on your bug zapper racket, and an indicator light glows" I have tried it several times & there is no light glowing. I bought 2 of them & will try the other one today to see if perhaps the 1st one I opened might be defective. If the light doesn't stay on all the time on the 2nd one that will confirm the 1st one is defective. If the 2nd one stays on all the time then I will know that they are both probably going back because I don't like leaving the light on all the time. Ok, I've now tried both of the new ones & just got & neither one has an indicator light that flows when you press the activation button & the LED light stays on all the time. My old one the light only comes on when you press the activation button. So, my opinion is this zapper took a step backwards in terms of performance from the previous version. The description on the website is wrong & it is definitely not as described. Waste of money! Add insult to injury & this item is non returnable & there is nothing listed on the Amazon website.

Bug Zapper
A few weeks ago, when my house was suddenly overwhelmed by persistent mosquitoes and little gnats that appeared to arrive out of nowhere, I used this solution to get rid of them. When I first started attempting to get rid of these insects, I was at my wit's end trying to get rid of them using traditional ways that either resulted in a mess or did not properly get rid of them. The fact that this bug zapper makes the laborious work of capturing flying insects much easier is, in my opinion, the primary reason for its widespread popularity. I used to find myself frantically trying to escape a fresh bite or the bothersome buzzing sound that kept me awake at night. Before I discovered this solution, I often found myself chasing insects about the home in a clumsy manner. As soon as I began the utilization of this specific instrument, I had an instantaneous feeling of relaxation and control over the circumstance. Because I utilized this product at a period of time when mosquitoes were very prevalent, I am able to declare with absolute certainty that it performed an excellent job of zapping mosquitoes as soon as they came into contact with the gadget. My insect issue was quickly resolved, regardless of whether I was swiping through the air or patiently waiting for a mosquito to get too near. The conclusion was always the same: a speedy fix. I enjoy the fact that it helps get rid of insects without leaving behind any big clean-up, since one of the problems I faced in the past was the nasty remnants of smashed bugs on walls or furniture. It is now possible for me to maintain a somewhat clean atmosphere while simultaneously dealing with unwelcome flying guests. My impression is that the capacity of this equipment to be recharged is something that contributes to its overall ease. For me, the fact that I no longer have to depend on conventional batteries has been a pleasant change. This is mostly due to the fact that I no longer have to be concerned about having to purchase replacements on a regular basis or about running out of power at key periods. I just plug it in for a recharge whenever I am aware that the power level is in the process of decreasing, and before I know it, it is ready to use once again. This simple way of recharging has made it possible for me to use the bug zapper on several occasions during the week, particularly in the nights, which is when mosquitoes are often the most active to be found in the vicinity of my living area. Previously, I have seen unsatisfactory results with a few other devices that ran out of energy too rapidly. However, this particular gadget seems to maintain its charge in a satisfactory manner, which is definitely a positive in my opinion.

Decent, but not great
I thought it would work better again flies. It knocks them down but won't kill them unless you hold it down on them after knocking the out of the sky.

ZAP!
It works! I had a really bad fly infestation the last couple weeks -- the worst I've had in over 30 years of living in this house. I set up a sticky fly ribbon that caught many, but many more just never landed on it. Cue the ZAPPER! I found the best way to use it is to flick the on/off switch on (so you don't forget), hold up the racket about two feet from the fly that has landed. This doesn't alert it to fly off right away. SLOWLY approach the fly, and about six inches away, thumb the activation switch. Then QUICKLY close the last few inches and ZAP! The fly is usually unable to skip out when the danger is so close. Minor negatives -- of course you have to sweep up the dead fly. Sometimes if the connection isn't properly made, you'll still hear a ZAP but it won't be enough to kill the fly. Just wait for it to land and try again. Be careful though. Some of them liked to land on my phone or electrical equipment, then I'd have to wait until they perched somewhere else. It's also a little heavy to try swinging it around like a fly swatter so I'd just wait for them to land. Also, don't continue to ZAP one that's caught in the wires, out of revenge. Sure, it'll REALLY kill it, but it also fries it and smells really bad. Just do a quick ZAP, and do it again on the rare chance you need to. This one is so much better and heavy-duty than the cheaper one I bought a few years ago, where the frame broke the first time I swatted too hard in the air.
