Is it edible?
Got this so that puppy couldn't pee on the bed (and me) if/when sleeping with me. Actually, he is beyond that, but seems to want to mark his territory and when king-sized sheets are new and fresh and smell like a drying softener sheet, then it is especially tempting to pee on it. After having him jump on the bed immediately after doing the laundry -- and peeing on it! -- I got this to save my memory foam bed as well not having to wash and dry EVVVVVERYTHING again. The first time I put it on, he jumped on it and immediately peed on it! Great. That was what it was for. I washed and dried it (without Bounce or any other scented drying sheets) and put it back on the bed. However, now he is chewing on it.... unraveling the seams on the side and generally making holes in it. I suppose that's okay, since I got it to protect the duvet cover, the duvet, the sheets, down pillows, and a cotton designer blanket that he got to and chewed to shreds before this came. So, it may be waterproof, but it isn't dog proof. Oh -- forgot to mention -- when something spills on it (in this case it was pee) -- it collects into the low places on the blanket and then if you don't figure out how to gather up the blanket so that the urine is all in the same lowest place in the middle before you remove it from the bed, then you'll end up with the pee right back there on the bed where you didn't want it in the first place. It will roll off and out so you can't just fold it, you have to sort of make sure all the edges are up and form a big bag with it. Then, you get to go pour it out.. . very carefully -- like, maybe in the shower, which is the easiest close place to put it. Or, take it outside if you can make it that far. In my case, I mostly leaped over that hurdle but some of it did drip out the sides. The monster dog has been sleeping on it just fine, but does try to find his way underneath it to snuggle in. so I hope he gets enough oxygen in there because this is dense and thick and seems to have something in it that is nonporous. The main thing he is doing with it now is getting it all wet and chewy around the sides and treating it kind of like a baby's binkie. It has some holes in it after about a week, so maybe this would be better for old dogs or incontinent people. Or kids who want to bring sodas to bed.... or sick people who like their coffee in bed.

Works great!
I have an incontinent dog but only when she sleeps. So it was very difficult to wash the king down comforter every time (in my front loader). I decided to try this. It worked perfectly. In fact, it just spread the puddle so that the duvet absorbed all the urine. I immediately checked my down and it was dry. I felt the top of this cover and to my surprise it was also dry with only a hint of moisture. It didn't even leave a stain. It is very easy to put on over a king comforter because the inside is slick. It stays put on mine and does not slip around on the comforter. The top material is like a polyester which is also slick enough to allow a duvet to easily slip on and again, my duvets do not slip around on this. The only downside is it does not allow a down comforter to loft. But it does it's job perfectly. I'm going to buy another one to use when I wash this one.

This very nice cover has not been "tested" with regard to moisture ...
This very nice cover has not been "tested" with regard to moisture protection (our female dog occasionally has sleep incontinence) but based on construction it should be very helpful to protect our new down comforter. It does add a layer of warmth as another reviewer mentioned so I will need to use my lightweight comforter in warm weather. My sole up front complaint about this product is that it lacks the ties in the corners to keep the comforter in place. I can live with this until I add my own ties. It does make a slight crackling noise but this is not a problem for me.

We have washed it multiple times and it still fills like plastic cover
This item is very hot and does nothe breath. We have washed it multiple times and it still fills like plastic cover. You are not able to return it without loosing a portion of your purchase. For the price I don't feel it is worth the money.

Not worth purchasing
We purchased the cover to protect our expensive down comforter and once we put our comforter in it we were disappointed. The comforter slips to the center of the cover, the comforter won't stay flat inside the cover is to slippery. You can't return it once you try your comforter in it. So don't buy it!

Works
I bought because I have 2 small children who are constantly spilling or leaking stuff onto my bed. Things like milk dripping out of a cup or pee leaking out of a diaper-eww. Tired of laundering king comforters. I thought I was genius to purchase this item.. add this fairly heavy waterproof cover over already heavy (king size) thick comforter and then put a duvet cover over both of those? You get a seriously weighted blanket that not only feels like a dead body is resting on top of you but also that dead body breaks loose inside waterproof cover very easily which then allows the comforter inside to basically slide around inside the slippery waterproof material inside the cover and the waterproof cover to slide around in the duvet. This is a nightmare. I tried. I used the waterproof cover for 2 nights and stored it away. It is waterproof yes. It does what it is intended to do, just wasn't light enough to use daily in king size bed..if you like sleeping with unbreathable super heavy covers, give it a try.

which in the winter is fine. The bed was not totally made which seems ...
Purchased this for the same reason as lots of others noted on their reviews- peeing cats. It got really old changing sheets, washing comforters, etc. The cover is very large- quite a bit larger than my comforter, so it does slip around inside the cover a bit as the cover is slippery so I have ended up laying it on top of the comforter and then covered it with the duvet. It does seem to hold in the heat a bit, which in the winter is fine. The bed was not totally made which seems to be an invitation to pee on it and the cat pulled back the cover and ended up getting parts of the bed and the cover wet- this was before laying it over the whole bed. It actually washed up very well and took a little longer to dry because it definitely repels water or holds it in when in the washer. so far I'm very happy with the cover.

Effective pillow cover
Good product! I have six kitties that at times have accidents, so I have to protect my pillows and comforters, so I just have to wash the pillowcase and waterproof cover. I recommend this product and will buy more in the future when I buy new pillows.
