Review: One of the best outdoor padlocks at a reasonable price - This lock is certainly one of the best medium security padlocks available at a reasonable price and is eminently suitable for outdoor use. There are other alot smaller Yale padlocks which are quite a bit cheaper which claim they are waterproof and for outdoor use which I have tried and they have all ended up in the bin as they have become very stiff or even seized up after just a few months use. This animal on the other hand is well built, the mechanism is very smooth with built in anti attack security features, and is easy to operate. Once opened, the padlock can be locked without the key by merely pushing it snap shut. There is plenty of weatherproofing around this padlock. It comes supplied with 3 keys in a blister pack and was supplied next day by desertcart. I'm delighted. Review: Seriously Good Quality - These are seriously good quality padlocks. The lock feels heavy and anything that may be exposed is covered. The key hole is at the bottom and has a cover over which I'm sure will keep out the damp or frost. The same key fits all 3 locks so I don't need to be working out which key for which padlock. ## Features - STRESS-FREE SECURITY - The Yale Weatherproof Padlocks keep your valuables secured for peace of mind - MULTIPURPOSE DESIGN - This product helps you secure your gate, shed or garage - WEATHERPROOF - Due to the protective cover, this padlock is rustproof, meaning it's also suitable for outdoor use - PACK INLUDES - 1x padlock and 3x keys, making it possible to use even if you loose one key - TRUSTED BRAND - Yale is one of the best-known names in the security industry ## Technical Specifications | Specification | Value | |---------------|-------| | ASIN | B00GURIHAC | | Brand | Yale | | Colour | Black | | Customer Reviews | 4.1 4.1 out of 5 stars (916) | | Finish | Painted | | Global Trade Identification Number | 04893862027621 | | Included Components | 1x 71mm Weatherproof Padlock | | Item Dimensions | 18 x 11.5 x 5 centimetres | | Item Type Name | Yale Weatherproof Padlock 71 mm | | Item Weight | 0.5 Kilograms | | Lock Type | Key Lock | | Manufacturer | Toolbank | | Manufacturer Warranty Description | 2 years. | | Material | Alloy Steel | | Model Number | Y220/71/130/1 | | Number of Pieces | 1 | | Part Number | YALY22071 | | Recommended Uses For Product | Security | | Shape | Rectangular | | Special Features | Key Unlock | ## Product Details - **Brand:** Yale - **Item dimensions L x W x H:** 18 x 11.5 x 5 centimetres - **Lock type:** Key Lock - **Material:** Alloy Steel - **Special feature:** Key Unlock ## Images ![Yale Locks YALY22071 71 mm Weatherproof Padlock - Image 1](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/41EQF6IoJ9L.jpg) ![Yale Locks YALY22071 71 mm Weatherproof Padlock - Image 2](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/31-aPx-R15L.jpg) ![Yale Locks YALY22071 71 mm Weatherproof Padlock - Image 3](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/31Ta3yWqeUL.jpg) ![Yale Locks YALY22071 71 mm Weatherproof Padlock - Image 4](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/71dPYy61t6L.jpg) ![Yale Locks YALY22071 71 mm Weatherproof Padlock - Image 5](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/81Cprwi1P7L.jpg) ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ One of the best outdoor padlocks at a reasonable price *by B***E on 13 June 2016* This lock is certainly one of the best medium security padlocks available at a reasonable price and is eminently suitable for outdoor use. The key hole is at the bottom and has a cover over which I'm sure will keep out the damp or frost. The same key fits all 3 locks so I don't need to be working out which key for which padlock. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Nice idea, but seems to be flawed *by H***? on 6 March 2020* I own 2 of these locks. The features built into this nice new lock to make it a bit more water resistant are nice and I expect they work for the moment. However the soft rubber seals stand significantly proud of the U-bolt and when inserted through a metal hasp the edges are likely to get damaged. In fact the rubber seals won't go through the hole in one of my gate hasps so i have had to remove one of the seals from one of my locks to use it. So I have two similar locks, one has a seal removed so that I can use it and the other is as Yale intended. I shall see how they fare during the next year or so. Seals are a nice idea as water ingress has killed most of my old locks, however the implentation seems to be flawed and I suspect the seals wont be effective for long with normal use. --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.com.pa/products/99273810-yale-locks-yaly22071-71-mm-weatherproof-padlock](https://www.desertcart.com.pa/products/99273810-yale-locks-yaly22071-71-mm-weatherproof-padlock) --- *Product available on Desertcart Panama* *Store origin: PA* *Last updated: 2026-10-08*
