Will a 15.6 inch laptop fit in this backpack?

Definitely not. My 14 inch laptop just barely fits.

Does it fit a 15'' mac book pro? (they are usually slimmer than normal laptops)

Yes, it does. At first it was a tight fit - had to be careful closing the zips to not scratch it, but after a few weeks it "gave" a bit and loosened up. Now I can easily drop it in and zip up without worry. Perfect little backpack for my Macbook Pro, and Tardis-like in its ability to hold a lot more than it looks like it should.
