A&R Sports Figure BladeGards Skate Guard

*editing my review to say I am dumb & bought figure skate guards thinking they were hockey skate guards and then couldn't figure out why they didn't fit.

They work

The absolute least expensive pair of skate guards by a few cents is the light pink color. But that color is no longer acceptable by my middle school aged daughter. So I bought the next least expensive colors and got a pair in Mint and another in Neon Pink. My daughter originally had originally talked me into a more expensive pair (changes colors mom!) and within less than 4 months, they wound up missing out of her skate bag, which we discovered when she needed to put them on at a competition. Thank goodness for soft skate guards in a pinch! Over the week, we have searched for the missing pair at the ice rink and haven't found them (I use a Sharpie to write initials onto the guards, since so many of them look identical). So now we have one pair and a back up. They are definitely more difficult to put on than the more expensive pair, but once you figure out the technique (put them on starting in the back, slide to the front while maintaining pressure to keep them on the blade) it's not so bad. I was able to purchase the two pairs of skate guards for less than we paid for 1 pair of the other ones. I'm sure it won't be long before the first pair we are using disappears as well.

They fit my skates nicely ...I love that they are adjustable... and to pop the Hitch/ hook in the next notch give the protecter a slight bend and wa la ....Done.

The plastic is very sturdy, yet still slightly cushioning so to not damage the blades of a good skate. The strap could be moved along the guard accommodating different sizes of blades. There is a canal for the melting ice and also holes for the water to get out and the blade to dry quickly, but made so smart that it pose no danger to the blade even if you make jumps on cement. They are very beautiful too. The picture do not do them justice! The are semi-transparent with lovely purple color and there is some sparkling dust inside. Just love the, Do recommend them! Easy to install and remove. Durable and able to cut down to size relatively easy with a razor blade, knife or even scissors.

I bought these blade guards along with my skates and although I haven't used them much, I am happy with it. They seem overall sturdy enough and was a great price as well. These guards are adjustable, which is an excellent feature! I do want to point out though that although these have holes on the bottom for drainage, blades must be wiped DRY before securing the guards on them as they will rust otherwise. All in all a great purchase!

They are too wide. My blade feels almost wobbly in the guard and like it could slip out. The color is okay, I got it in berry. The material seems like it gets the job done but not exactly amazing quality. Overall, i haven’t fully tested it out yet but I’m disappointed to know that it doesn’t even fit my skate despite being one size fits all. Also it’s so unnecessarily complicated to take these off. I don’t really recommend these, you’re better off spending a few bucks more on quality guards than whatever these are.
