Works fine for a low cost speaker
Adequate sound, far better than the stock ford speakers in my f350. Sadly the wire connectors (large and small) were packaged in a way that I didn’t even see them u til I was disposing of the packaging after installation. I’d just made My own custom wire connectors, then found they actually were included in the box….. wish they were a little More visible when unpacking. That, or I guess I coulda just read the directions, so that’s on me. I do recommend for a budget speaker.

I’m very impressed with it sound
I started off with this set in my ford ranger in the rear. They was better then the stock speakers but because of the location of the speakers I could not get the mids and highs out of it. This is due to location as mids and highs are line of sight to hear them. So I went another direction and installed some behind the seat truck speaker wedges to compensate for my problems. So as I was thinking about these speakers I decided to get a 4 speaker box wedge to hook up to my extra head unit. I was very amazed by the sound out of these. I’m gonna purchase another set for my quad box as I’m just that surprised of the sound out of these speakers. These speakers are very efficient on power as I’m running a kenwood that peaks out at 50 watts and the RMS power rating is 22 watts. They are built well and look very nice too. But man the sound out of these little speakers are just amazing especially for the price. I highly recommend these speakers if you are on a budget and want great sound!

They work with modifications.
I got these Pyle PL53BL 5.25-Inch 200-Watt Three-Way Speakers (Pair) for a 1989 Jeep Cherokee Laredo.See 20120430 update at the end!The 5.25 size and mounting holes are about the only dimensions that fits the original mounting exactly. The center mid-range and tweeter speakers stick out almost an inch meaning you must use the grills that come with the speakers instead of the flush mount dust cover & grill that comes with the Jeep. The carpeted inner side panel and backing to which the carpeting is mounted had to be cut away so that the outer part of the main "woofer" didn't hit it. You must cut carefully leaving as much as you can so you can mount the plastic ring to the carpeting/backing. The ring holds the mesh/grill both which now stick out 1/2 to 3/4 inch into the cabin. If you cut enough away so the plastic ring fits on the inner edge of the carpet/backing you can maybe use the screws provided to hold it all together to the inner door (metal) frame where the original speaker was mounted. You may have to figure out something to keep the carbet/backing from vibrating/rattling with the resonant frequencies of what you're playing, from bumps in the road, and opening/closing the door.I mounted the ring separately to the carpet/backing and ended up drilling holes in the door's inner metal frame to screw the ring, carpet and baking to the door to keep it snugly in place. (Could rust, but hey, it's an '89 with a lot of rust already.)As far as the sound... about as loud as the original speakers and about as clear. (Certainly much better than the one speaker where the base cone was no longer attached ANYWHERE to the outer frame!)I was hoping they'd be much louder and sharper. They'd likely be louder with the factory radio/cassette player which was replaced by a JVC with CD and MP3 input. If you're looking for an easy direct fit replacement, consider a few hours to fit the first one and maybe an hour after for the rest. Sound not much better than original speakers, but for the price and my time, they're acceptable. (I got 2 pair, two front & two rear (hatch door).)*********20120430 UPDATE: I found out these are louder than what I thought. The issue was the new Radio/CD/audio-in deck had a setting for Hi/Low. You pick Low if your speakers can't handle the units 50W per channel out, and my son had set it to low, or it came pre-programmed to low. I set it to Hi and now I can get real loud.I therefore change my review from 3 to 4 stars as the speakers sound as good as the factory speakers. If they were flush with the door I'd give them 5 of 5 stars as installation would be much easier.

Decent speakers but one wire too short.
Should be a decent set of speakers for the cost. I've purchased all 4 speakers for my truck with Pyle and all 4 turned out good and sound great for my needs, the old factory ones were gone, shot, no good, couldn't even stand to listen to them. So, I decided to buy 4 more for my 02 accord since all of those are factory speakers and are getting old. The one thing I noticed when i recieved these 6x9's was one of the wires off the cone was too short and did not have enough room for cone flexing that a set of speakers like these would require. I uploaded a picture of what I did to resolve this small but "significant" issue. I just simply soldered a small piece of wire too it so it can allow room for flexing. Don't know how or why it was short, but it's not a good idea to leave it that way and not worth the trouble or hassle to return it due to one short wire, the other speaker is just fine. As you can clearly see on the left wire, if I didn't add the piece of wire, it more likely would have been pulled off the terminal while the cone flexed, there was no room for flexing as it was. Outside of that I see no problems with these speakers, I knocked off one star for this issue, I'm sure it was overlooked when they were made, and I've had good results with this brand for my truck. They're not high end speakers and I don't need high end or high volume speakers, those days are over I need my hearing more so, I just need decent sound at a decent cost. Amazon shipping was quick, recieved these one day early, now waiting to receive the 6.5's to go in the doors, they will be in tomorrow... very fast shipping.Update review: after mounting these speakers with my stock stereo, right off I noticed how bad they sounded, it was a bit disappointing. I thought, well maybe I just need a new stereo?... so I purchased a new stereo and the sound improved some but still didn't sound right, no bass too much midrange and very little highs even after stereo adjustments. So then I decided, perhaps I just need a good amp to push them?. So I purchased a 300 watt per channle amplifier, and WOW!!!... what a difference. These things hit good, sound is fantastic, the bass hits hard with no distortion, I can actually feel the sound now. I'm not much on high volume but I do like good sound, and these do really good for the price. I know some don't think these are that great, but I assure you, unless you get a bad set, these speakers are made for amplifiers, no cheap low watt stereo are gonna do these any justice, they are made for high wattage to get the best results... only a good amp will push these like they're intended. I upped my rating to 5 stars, they now sound so good I've forgotten all about that one little short wire I had to repair.

Best value for the $$ I spent!
Great purchase. Easy to install and much higher wattage than OE Ford door speakers.
