Excellent Edition
Comfortable to actually read. Well made, and the font is a great size. It's also really pretty!! Happy to finally read an Austen for the first time - it has been way too long!!

Beautiful book
I collect the Penguin clothbound classic books not only for reading but for aesthetic purposes. Anyone who has ever owned a Penguin Clothbound classic knows how delicate the covers are, so I was absolutely thrilled that this book came in almost perfect condition! This is going to look stunning on my bookshelf!

It’s Jane Austen. What’s not to love?
Been reading Jane Austen to my baby while I feed her. Got through all the novels, so this was a logical next step. Really enjoyed reading her earlier work! It’s not as polished, but you can see the trajectory to the novels.Only con: wish there were notes in a column on the side like the Norton anthologies.

Love and Friendship
I love all things Jane Austen. But, I must warn you that after the movie, Love and Friendship, was released this summer, there will forever be a confusion about Love and Friendship and Lady Susan. The movie by the title, Love and Friendship, is from the book, Lady Susan. So, if you want to prepare yourself for the movie, I suggest you read Lady Susan. And, btw, if you don't read it before going to the movie...you will be lost.

A New Definitive Edition?
The Cambridge Edition of the Works of Jane Austen challenges many of R.W. Chapman's reading of the texts based upon newer editorial techniques. Many believe that it is the new definitive edition. While I am not yet ready to totally abandon my Chamber's edition, the Cambridge Edition is a must have for any serious Jane Austen scholar--amateur or professional.

This is too cool. They even kept the misspellings of a young girl writing for herself and the entertainment of her family.

Really fun read for Jane Austen fans
Really fun read for Jane Austen fans. Reading her early writings as a young novelist is very insightful, silly and always a good read.
