Superb and highly practical
By the time I got this, I was already following a ketogenic diet for few days. Within a few days I saw my acetone levels rose from 2-3 ppm to 6-7 ppm. To confirm I also used a CGM for my BG as well as checked my blood ketones. Both these measurements independently verified the accuracy and functionality of the breath analyzer.I also really like the ketoscan app that you can download from the app store. This was helpful for me to properly blow for the measurement as well as I can check the daily fluctuations as a graph. The initial cost is high compared to blood ketone monitors but overall cost of usage is much much cheaper with the breath analyzer. In my experience 0.6 mM BHB equals to 5 ppm acetone. I really don’t understand why BHB measurement is superior to acetone provided your main interest is to stay in nutritional ketosis.You need to look beyond your initial cost because not only this is much cheaper in the long run but also encourages us to stay in nutritional ketosis and no needle pricks

Weight Loss is Determined by Ketosis Level!
I have used water-only fasting for twenty-five years to jump start rapid weight loss. I can tell you that urine strips work, but they are highly inaccurate and, yes urine strips are cheaper. What an inconvenience!This breathalyzer measures ketones in my breath and records the data. Now, I can sustain my pace of weight loss using accurately recorded data. It connects via Bluetooth to my phone, where the app records the data. I take multiple readings throughout the day. I even took a reading in the car, as I arrived at the gym for a workout.You will learn more rapidly, especially if you eat foods with a high Glycemic Index. Additionally, we know that exercise is great for muscle toning, but diet restriction is the ONLY WAY TO LOSE WEIGHT. Ketones must enter the bloodstream to burn existing fat stored in the body. Our bodies cannot break down fat without a continuous supply of ketone production.Now, I see that keeping my ketones at or above a score of 10, guarantees continued weight loss. The higher the ketone level the faster the loss. I aim for sustainability, and ketone measurements are a forecaster, whereas a scale tells me afterwards.CAUTION: This advice is for NON type II or type I diabetics. Water-fasting requires clinical supervision for diabetics, especially those taking insulin. Diabetics risk metabolic ketoacidosis syndrome (death) on extreme caloric restrictions. Ask your doctor.

Can’t be accurate
This device appears to be inaccurate. It doesn’t matter how long I fast the meter hasn’t even hit 3. I can fast longer and the score actually decreases- that makes no sense. It seemed like it would be more convenient than sticking my finger & I was hoping it would be as accurate as the strips but it just seems like an expensive toy. I’m very disappointed in my purchase

Useful Tool
Overall, I'm happy with the Ketoscan meter. Being the kind of person who does not want the stress of putting holes in my fingers every day or the added expense of the the lancets and strips, but wanting more information than urine strips, I find that this sits right in the middle. It give me day to day comparisons of my ketosis levels so I can see when I'm going good or bad and adjust accordingly. Probably not as accurate as analyzing the blood, but easy to adopt for daily use to see trends. Did not give it 5 stars because I find the ketoscan software to be a bit outdated.

Great device... I believe this measurement correlates to your GKI!
Okay, I got it in and used it the last 3 mornings, along side my Glucose and Ketone numbers (from my blood tests).Where is what I noticed right away... This appears to represent a number closer to Glucose Ketone Index (GKI).In the USA, GKI = Glucose/18/Ketones (rest of the world usually does Glucose/Ketones).That number is generally thought of as your metabolic level of utilizing ketones.Above 6: Nothing Special3-6: Maintenance (of weight, etc)0-3: Weight lossThe closer to 1 is very therapeutic.I test my glucose/ketones and generate my GKI every morning. I do a lot of fasting, and have gotten numbers are low as 0.6 and 0.8 (meaning I am REALLY in deep ketosis, and utilizing a lot of ketones).so, for the last 3 days, here are my my numbers AND my PPM from this AWESOME Tool:6.42 GKI => 7.2 ppm3.14 GKI => 15 ppm (6.42/3.14 ~2 -> Doubling of PPM) Nice, this PREDICTED about a 30 reading for the next one1.25 GKI => 41 ppm This is what I got! WOW! I will continue to track this. 15ppm and higher is weight loss, 30 or higher is therapeutic (based on how these are tying together)So, at 150 for 300 readings, this machine costs you 50 cents/reading. A Bargain, because testing BOTH costs my 1.34 (without the Keto-Mojo Cost).After 300 uses, you send it in, and I was told that for $30, they replace the sensor, recalibrate, and return the device to you.. That reduces the FUTURE costs to 10 CENTS. A Massive savings. And no blood draws.I truly believe if we can correlate these numbers to the GKI (which makes sense), then this is actually a much easier device to use and carry with you.you do lose some information, like your blood glucose levels, but honestly, THIS is the number to track.Now, I am going to start testing/comparing against my daughter as well. To see if her numbers are different.The simple fact that these numbers are even CLOSE to the relationship I predicted based on GKI is awesome!Why should they track? Because it can't track your serum (blood) numbers. Those numbers represent the MIX of fuel that is available. But the GKI attempts to estimate EITHER Insulin as a proxy (lower GKI means less insulin), or your metabolic flexibility+fat burning. In the second mode, the lower the glucose the more dependent on burning fat you are. THAT is where there seems to be a correlation to this measurement.Now, the GKI values may not match perfectly at the same numbers, but I believe it might.Anyways, this device is definitely worth getting. I find it easier to use than the ketonix and I get more reliable readings out of this.Very Impressed!
