Perfect set for a new griddle owner!
I am new to griddles. And, wasn't sure what to buy. This set is perfect!!! I make the best smash burgers now!! It has made my hamburger cooking a total ease! The set had a nice heavy press that works flawless with the wax paper. The spatula has a sharp edge that really comes in handy for listing the patty to turn the first time.I mixed my salt and pepper seasoning together in the shaker, which helps speed up the seasoning part of my cooking. Which keeps you from spending too much time saeaoning, that your burgers get too dark.My smash burger cooking is now like a professional assembly line. Ha! They come out consistently great. If you're considering this, just do it! You won't be disappointed!

A Smash-Hit Birthday Gift for Burger Lovers!
I picked up the Cuisinart Smash Burger Kit as a birthday present for my brother, and it was an absolute home run! Everything comes neatly packed—cast iron press, stainless-steel spatula, seasoning shaker, and patty papers—so he had all the essentials to master the art of smash burgers right out of the box.The cast iron press gets piping hot and delivers that perfect, crispy edge on each patty, while the patty papers make portioning and cleanup a breeze (no sticking!). The seasoning shaker is super convenient. And the thick-handle spatula is sturdy enough to handle hefty patties, flipping and scraping with ease.If you’re shopping for anyone who loves cookouts, tailgates, or just craves perfect homemade burgers, this kit is a fantastic gift choice.

Good quality, but watch out for the short handle
I have only used this new press once now, and it does seem to be very nice quality with the press being well made and heavy. The only problem that I ran into was with the handle, which seems just a bit short. I like to preheat the press and when I used the press the short handle length allowed my hand to touch the case iron area at the ends of the handle, which can be pretty darn hot and burned my hand. Having an extra inch of length added to the handle would sure be nice.

Nice set to make smash burgers
Bought this set to make smash burger on cast iron griddle on outdoor grill. My set came with same Cuisinart model # CSBK-400 on the box, but the smasher has a flat bottom (without the lip described in the Amazon post and that some reviewers complained about in reviews). I thought the lip would be useful to help with smash pressure/thinness, but mine was flat so have to rely on eye-ing it. Some of the first ones came out a bit on the thick side - but will get the hang of it. The flat surface gives you more flexibility in how to use this smashers (e.g., grilled/pressed sandwiches). The pressing squares are very handy to use. Keeps the meat from sticking and makes the process to move through the burgers quickly a breeze. Will likely buy or make more when I run out.We liked the shaker to make our own seasoning - and can quickly season all with a couple of shakes (versus having to shake 3 different spices separately). The spatula also nice (but handle is a bit short for over hot grill). It is nice and wide - and pretty sharp. Easily slides under for good, quick flips.

Smash Your Burger!
So good. I was looking for a good way to make some nice crispy smashed burgers in the cast iron pan. Found it!This thing is heavy duty. Here are a few recommendations:- Never wash with soap. I never use soap on my cast iron stuff. I "wash" them with hot water and a scrub brush. I dry and then coat with a light coating of vegetable oil.- This set comes with some pre cut parchment paper squares. You're going to want to use these, at least for the first side of each burger. The raw meat will stick. These paper squares may seem a bit cumbersome, but you'll get it.- I roll my ground beef mixture in a ball, put it in a very hot cast iron pan, directly on a pat of butter that has already melted a little pool in the pan. Then I press it down firmly to thin that burger out. I typically let the first side sear and cook for about a minute thirty to two minutes. Then I flip the burger and keep pressure on it to keep it flat. Side two is also about a minute thirty to two minutes. They're easy to cook through at this thickness but what you really want to go for is that sear. You actually get a nice light crunch to the outside of the burger that adds some great flavor and texture.- Have a plate with a paper towel on it to set the smasher off to the side. It will have burger juice all over it so this helps avoid the mess.- This is NOT for the grill. You will smash the ground beef right through your grates. This is for flat surfaces only.- DO NOT put this in the dishwasher. You're only asking for trouble in terms of rust and the wooden handle deteriorating. The burger flipper is an added bonus with this set. A nice chisel front edge to this heavy duty tool flips your smashed burger with ease.Would I recommend? 100%. This is the one you want. It's heavyweight, heavy duty and if you take care of it, should last forever. Get smashing!

The best smash burger kit - my recipe included below
This is something I had on my wish list but couldn’t wait. The kit comes with a heavy (840 grams) cast iron press, a heavy (250 grams) stainless-steel spatual with sharp edges, a stainless-steel seasoning shaker, and 100 patty papers. This is really a complete kit. Here is my smash burger recipe.• 1 kg ground chuck 80% lean ground beef• 50%-50% salt and pepper by volume. (Use included shaker).• American cheese slices• Premium large hamburger buns.Divide the beef into eight 125 gram round balls and place them in the refrigerator. Preheat your flattop grill to medium-high (know your grill). When the grill is to temp, place each ball (make sure you have room) on the flattop, smash the burgers immediately, one time (don’t smash them again) and season. I like them very thin so I only cook each side for a minute. If you like them a little thicker add time to each side, up to 3 minutes per side. Flip once and season again. Add cheese and double them up for a double smash burgers.
