Reliable Salon-Quality Developer at a Great Price
I’ve been using the Clairol Professional Crème Permanente 30 Volume Hair Developer (16 oz) for several at-home coloring sessions, and it consistently delivers excellent lift and smooth application. The creamy texture makes mixing with dye easy and doesn’t drip when applying with a brush, which is a huge help when you’re working by yourself. What impresses me most is the professional-grade results without the salon price. It lifted my hair several shades bright and stayed soft afterward, and it provides fuller gray coverage without being harsh. The 30-volume strength is just right for most permanent colors, and the price—around $0.31 per ounce—is fantastic compared to salon brands. Plus, the bottle is sturdy and lasts for multiple uses. For anyone DIY-ing their color, this developer is trustworthy and cost-effective.

This is what you want to use.....READ...it is a developer...... NOT peroxide
Gold bottle of their developer is perfect with their conditioner.Actually, I have many women walk up to me and say your hair is beautiful. I just tell them Clairol, I do not like WHITE hair.I am 76 and I can't stand WHITE hair, I was born Flaxen blonde and wanted to still stay blonde as I have all my life, But NOT some GOLDEN blond as I see people on TV..... For a LIGHT FLAXEN blond enough just to have some color over white...I see people say DID NOT WORK only lightened it. People are not informed...If you have DARK HAIR it will LIGHTEN. You want your color GONE...You may have to STRIP your hair. Then you can apply a LIGHT COLOR. It is a DEVELOPER..it is NOT A hard core STRIPING product like PEROXIDE FOR hair coloring.. People are not reading fully and blame the product.

A must-have to color dark/black hair to bright copper without bleach
Perfect for the price point and cream consistency to mix with permanent color .See before and after picture on brunette ( dry thin , colored treated hair ) to bright copper using the same Clairol Soy 4 Plex 30% formula on virgin black ( fine thin hair ) and Revlon Bright AuburnThe first trial was not successful to reach bright copper instead of light brunette due to misuse : only 45 minutes soaking duration without heat activator .The second trial is well done , wait at least 45 minutes on the room temperature after FINISHING color application, use hair dryer for 15 minutes or more at medium/high heat to activate the developer until the hair forms jelly alike . Sit for another 15-20 minutes to cool down then rinse with Luke/cold water , no shampoo , conditioner ONLY .Pre/post treatment: At least a night before color , moisturize the hair with olive/grape seed/or argan oil water mix solution . Formula : 30% for olive , 40-50% for grape seed oil + water , spray all over the hair . Use this daily after color .Do not wash your hair with shampoo at least 48 hours after color treatment, conditioner only30% is the minimum level for lifting dark hair for non-professional use without risking the side effect . Do not exceed 2 hours total if you hair is thick and long , Max 30 minutes heat . This formula won’t work without heat activator ( hair dryer ) .

Gonna have to try again because of my dark hair
I’ve never used developer before on my hair, and this 30 volume one didn’t exactly life the color off my dark black hair enough (I think my hair is just too black and I will have to try again) but it did create a brown hue to my hair when you put it under a flashlight. It partially gave me the lightening I was going for without being overly harsh to my hair, especially when paired with the dye I used. I always make sure to deep condition afterward, and my hair felt fine. Plus the consistency was smooth and easy to mix, and the bottle was sealed well when it arrived, which I appreciate. I’d recommend it for anyone trying to get a little color lift. Just make sure you are cautious with how much you use always measure an equal amount to your dye!! :)
