REVISED REVIEW: Don't waste your money!
I bought three of these, and so far I've not been that impressed. The Yale app is slow to load and to connect. It's just easier to use codes to enter than it is to use the app. And tracking who has come and gone works most of the time, But sometimes it does not report an entry. And on more than one occasion it has become "disconnected" from the WiFi module, and then you have to go through the entire registration process all over again. I would certainly not want to use these for anywhere that didn't have "regular" visitors (i.e., vacation rental or similar). There's too great of a chance that they would fail at the wrong time.(EDIT) After a few months of use, I can now say this was a complete waste of money! More than once I've come to the door to find it unlocked! I even have it set to auto-lock on a 10 second timer, but that doesn't seem to matter. Imagining coming home after a few days away to find your door unlocked! And the app works only on rare occasions. Plus there's still the problems I talked about it my original review above... only now they have become more that just a little annoying. I've regretted purchases before, but never to this level. It makes me want to completely avoid ALL Yale/Stanley products completely.

Easy to install and can also work without a smart hub. Note that without the hub it works only locally (I think it uses Bluetooth), you need another component (connect?) to support wifi.I've already configured a code for the contractor to use and one for emergency in case I need to provide the code for a neighbor to enter the house while I'm away.Comes with a door sensor too, with 2 ways to install the sensor: visible and concealed. Once installed you can set the lock to auto lock once the door is closed for a certain time (I set it to 2 min)I'm waiting for my hub to arrive, until then I can only connect to the lock from my phone when I stand next to the door.

Junk, Junk, and more Junk!!
Installed one, PITA. It broke within several months. Called Yale and they said the beeping code meant it was jammed. They send me a replacement and again, PITA to install. Several months go by and it too breaks. COVID hits and customer support is sketchy at best. They agree to send me another but don't and disappear. Finally after months I get a hold of them and they say too bad, we're not sending you one because it's been over a year. I argue with them and they finally agreed to send another. PITA to install and several months later it breaks too. Go figure. Yale is a company that produces trash for our landfills now.

Random beeping with no interaction
I have had the lock installed for 7 months. On a very random occasions it starts to beep uncontrollably, like an alarm. This happens at random times during the day, most annoyingly at 3:00am. For no reason it and without any interaction, it will start beeping. Opening the door, pressing the keypad code, anything physical on the lock does not stop the beeping.I was able to stop the beeping using the August app by unlocking & locking remotely

battery drain and connectivity issues... don't buy
Bought this in March 2021. Had battery drain just a few months later.. and with almost little use as this is a seasonal home. Aug. more issues.. Yale support had me go through a reinstall. Sept, same issues..We bought the yale wifi booster, even though we had great connectivity where the door is located. The issues have repeated themselves well over a dozen times. Have changed out batteries 9 times.Entering new codes would work 50% of the time.Using this lock for a vacation rental means you need readability. This past weekend we had to change the batteries twice. And once again, they went dead. I reached out to Yale support.. they are giving me a 20% discount.. No thank you. I will find a different lockBy the way, this was one of 3 locks I purchased.. My mistake.. I should have looked elsewhere once the problems began.Yale, there must a known issue. Please do the right thing. refund my money.

Love it!
Works great to let family inside when I’m not there! And it’s so convenient to make sure I locked the door after I’ve already left

What a piece of junk
We bought this lock because it came highly recommended by our contractor. It has all of the features we wanted for our new business. HOWEVER, it has never worked correctly. After a few days it no longer syncs with the app on my phone. So, as recommended, I take the batteries out, pull out the module, put it all back together, sync it up, it works for a few more days, and then it stops working. I have replaced batteries in this thing so many times that I've lost count. For a product that cost me $399.68 I sure expected something better. I've thought about buying a new module but the reviews on this lock say that doesn't work either. We are cutting our losses and getting a different one.

Poorly manufactured, nightmare to install. And then it doesn't work.
I have 4 of these that I bought 2 years ago. The one that gets the most use failed, so I ordered a replacement. I had little trouble with installing the first 4, but this one was a huge problem. The handles would not fit onto the door latch - very poor machining. I finally got it all together (with a hammer) and then it refused to be recognized by the August app. After three hours I had to quit.Note: I am a professional woodworker and have very wide experience installing machines and getting them to work. Take it from a pro, this was a very, very bad experience.
