It works well but has some drawbacks
I bought this along with a high precision bubble level to make a longer range laser level and the laser certainly performs well.Minor downsides in my opinion:The laser spot is more of a rectangle so it was necessary to rotate the laser to get the rectangle aligned to the horizontal. The laser dissipates about 400mW (within spec) so does get quite warm so I ended up making a copper mount for it, rather than a printed plastic one which would probably make it get hotter. The wires have no strain relief so care is needed not to fatigue and break them off the miniature circuit board. The diameter was marginally wider than the spec which was a pain because the hole in the copper needed enlarging from a 6.5mm drill to 6.51mm.
