USA by Rail: plus Canada's main routes (Bradt Travel Guide)

So the prices listed in this book are a little low at this point as this was printed in 2019, but the information in the volume is very thorough and useful. This book is an asset for anyone interested in train travel in the USA or Canada, it's history and what to expect on a long distance train trip. I found that it enhanced my train journey enjoyment knowing a little bit about what I was seeing whizzing by outside my window.

Very extensive & has lots of routes. Easy to find & read the information. Looking forward to venturing out!

Must have for alternative travel paths

We did 14k miles in 1 month with the Amtrak pass. This guide gave us stop by stop info; I also researched & highlighted where sunrise & sunset was going to be. This is the perfect size & layout was convenient (like a Bible, each route was labeled at the edge of the page). On all 10 routes we took, we would have missed things w/o this guide. We will also use this in planning our next trip. Btw the double decker "superliners" were smoother & better view than the east coast single level that shook you constantly like a rag doll in the mouth of a rabid dog. Customer service was better out west in general, with sporadic worsening service as you went East. Fortunately we had the occasional good experiences regular enough to do it again. This made our adventure better & was definitely worth recommending.

Bought as a gift for my BF. He is a train fanatic and goes on regular trips yearly. So this book is a wonderful guide. Every route is explained with a lot of detail and lists things to do in surrounding areas

Best Travel book eva!

The book is good for planning multiple trips via Amtrak. Some of the information has changed, due to Amtrak changing some routes but besides that it's a great base to start a great adventure via train
