Roughly 30 portions. It lasts me just about a month. Each recommended serving is a tablespoon and a half.

It is sweetened with Stevia leaf extract powder

It would normally be a 30 day supply but I alternate it with Osteovantiv so it lasts me over 2 months

Q: How does Arthroben compare to Limbrel? Are the active ingredients the same?

The active ingredients (baicalin and catechin derived from medicinal plants, one from Traditional Chinese Medicine and the other from Ayurvedic medicine) appear to be the same. The FDA has recently taken Limbrel off the market due to 197 reports -- over a ten-year period -- of adverse reactions. Of these reports, 57 came in with enough information to determine whether they *might* be associated with Limbrel. Of the 57, only 30 were found likely to have been associated with Limbrel. But the adverse reactions were serious, involving drug-induced liver injury or hypersensitivity pneumonitis. In all reported cases, the adverse reactions reversed themselves when patients stopped taking Limbrel. (This is information from the FDA's CFSAN health hazard evaluation.) Since Arthroben and Limbrel contain the same active ingredients, and Arthroben's white paper reports similar adverse reactions, I wouldn't be surprised to see Arthroben recalled, too. The question of whether the recall is justified or not is a separate issue. It looks to me like NSAIDs (ibuprofen, naproxen, aspirin) have side effects that are even more serious (heart problems, strokes, internal bleeding) and are more common. So I'm continuing to use Arthroben, though my doctor monitors my liver functions and my lungs closely.
