Lion Head Jasmine Fragrant Rice AAA 10kg

I've tried a lot of different brands of jasmine rice over the years, but Lion Head Jasmine Fragrant Rice AAA is by far my favorite. This rice has become a staple in my kitchen because it’s consistently excellent in both flavor and texture.When you cook it, the aroma is incredible and fills the whole kitchen. It has that authentic jasmine scent that you can’t really get from lower-quality rice. We love rice and we love this rice! The package says premium jasmine that came from Thailand and Cambodia, the label also says Milagrosa pandan rice, the jury was out on this one. In my opinion having eaten both types of rice, lived in different parts of Asia and being a British Asian, I would say this rice is more towards the premium Milagrosa pandan rice you'll get in the Philippines, Hong Kong, Singapore or Malaysia than a typical Thai jasmine rice. This rice hasn't got the lovely strong smell of Thai jasmine rice and not as sticky. This rice has a more subtle fragrant (which my other half love) and less glutinous which makes it ideal for fried rice as well if you have leftover rice for next day! This rice is a little bit sensitive with the ratio of water to rice and it can get a little sticky if you drown it too much, use of rice cooker is ideal to get perfect rice whatever rice you get. I would get this rice again and again for quality, taste and versatility.

I am writing this as someone who has been eating Thai fragrant rice all my life.In terms of appearance, texture, and how well it does in a rice cooker, it is similar to the average Thai rice. BUT it does not have the same scent or flavor. In fact, it has no scent or flavor at all. This is NOT fragrant rice.If you don't mind the lack of fragrance, then this brand is reasonably cheap and edible. It also comes in a nice airtight bag. If you know how real Thai fragrant rice tastes like, stay away.
