STABILicers Hike Macro Traction Crampons for Walking or Hiking on Snow and Ice,Grey/Green, (1 Pair)

This is the second pair of the same model. The first pair lasted almost 3 winters before the rubber that goes around the shoe broke. I really like these compared to another similar brand which I purchased. This product has the stiffer green plastic platform and a wider spacing of the studs which is more stable than the similar ones. I do recommend getting a spare box of studs if you will be walking on pavement. I also recommend to pull the studs out when new and put a little anti-seize compound on each stud then screw them back in. Otherwise, they tend to rust in place which makes it difficult to replace them. I am older and walk my dog 3 or 4 times a day. Not falling is important to me and this product has served that purpose.

Bought for wife who carries 7 month old in kangaroo. She said she had good footing.

I am a search dog handler for search and rescue and have used these for over two years now and love them! I use them for light snow, ice and also mud. These are the best ice cleats I have ever used. They are more aggressive and therefore provide better stability than the spring, chain or even stud versions of crampons. The rubber framework is beefy and the attachment system goes easily over my winter boots and stay on, even when I hit patches of deeper snow, which was not always the case with other crampons I have used in the past.Working a search dog in Northern New Mexico usually means you are bushwhacking off-trail, going up steep Alpine in the Southern Rockies or through canyons and ravines on the high desert mesa. These bad boys keep me upright and give tons of traction on icy or muddy inclines while traveling fast behind a search dog.They also are easy to clean. I just run water over them and brush the velcro straps with a light nylon-bristle brush to remove debris and keep the velcro working top-notch.Needless to say, these dudes live full-time in my search vehicle, where I am ready to respond in all kinds of weather and terrain more safely due to these excellent crampons. Would highly recommend to any outdoor enthusiast as part of their basic equipment cache.

Not a bad idea for a product. You can remove the spikes and just use the studs for icey conditions. But it is the spikes that I have a problem. The spikes extend a bit from your boots. This can cause your pants to tear. Also the product is a bit heavy. Also you will have to raise each step higher to avoid tripping compared to other mini crampons, and the competition is cheaper.

These provide amazing grip and hold up well. For men's size 12 hiking shoes or boots you need a size XL. I do recommend putting a dab of Loctite on the screws so they won't loosen over time.

These are nice in that they have straps and they stay very secure on your boots. I had a different brand that just slid on over my boots and they fell off immediately. These stay on.Cons: within three weeks of buying them, two of the ice cleats on the bottom fell off completely. I know it says to check the security of the cleats and tighten them down but within three weeks? The company gladly accepted my return request and is sending me a new pair out. It will arrive within 5 days of ordering it.
