Not a drop in replacement for Uhomey Ice maker inlet without modification.
I purchased this valve as a replacement for Uhomey Ice maker water inlet replacement. It looks the same but here is the difference. 1)there is no integral mounting bracket that allows the valve to bolt into the existing two screw holes. Second the water flow has the power connection tabs facing the inlet side that has to go through the back panel hole provided. there are mounting screw holes on the bottom, it could be remedied and I will when I get time and the garage is not so hot. Some notation of the direction of flow needs to be shown to avoid the power in tabs conflicting with your mounting. a small sheet metal L bracket with the 4 holes and some screws useful.

So far so good
I use this to make an automatic water filler for my coffee machines

good value, fittings did not leak, worked well
The build quality on this seems good. The fittings were snug and did not leak.. I used this for part of an aquarium automation project. I would purchase it again.

As perfect as it gets for an electrical water valve
I haven't used a solenoid valve before, but the performance and ease-of-use of this little valve was outstanding, to say the least. Simply blew me away!I wanted a leak-proof water valve with 1/4" inlet and outlet that can be electrically controlled for a indoor plant watering system I'm building. Came across this and ordered it because it had a low cost. Connected to a 1/4" OD pipe with a small pump to test with a 12V power supply.First, connecting the pipe was intuitive and very easy. Just slide the blue clip out, push the pipe in (push a little hard to make it go all the way in), and slide the blue clip back in; that's it. It connects solidly and does not come out (I pulled hard and it stayed in like magic). When inserting the pipe you encounter one place where you feel like you hit the end, but you have to keep pushing harder to make it go further until it finally stops going further in. Removing the pipe is just as easy... slide out the blue clip, press the collar in, and pull the pipe out. That easy.Second, when the pump started no water came out as expected (because it is Normally Closed type - NC). When I applied 12V to the 2 terminals of the solenoid, water suddenly started coming out. There was no single drop that leaked from anywhere. Amazing!!! Also, there was no noticeable noice when activated... it just works like magic. I only used it for a short while. During that time I did not notice any heat coming from anywhere. This is simply an incredible achievement in engineering, if you ask me... super easy to connect/disconnect, no leaks, silent, no heat, and does exactly what it says, for a low cost. WOW!!!

Way too Hot to Handle
I had my husband install 2 of these units. He is an Electrical Engineer. He said this product has a possible safety issue. He confirmed the review comments of MadScientist above on March 3, 2017 and added thatthis product is way too hot to be trusted at continuous on 12VDC.Since the valve is normally closed, a high percentage of folks (including me) will want it on most of the time. He said the sealed electromagnet coil can't handle continuous on at 12VDC. It is about 4.8 Watts as advertised but the closed case makes heat a major issue.I burnt my fingers touching the case and I worry about leaving it unattended. In my application, the units are under a kitchen sink in a closed cabinet controlling an RO water system and near cleaning chemicals and paper bags.He said the valves work AOK but you MUST by get the power dissipation down by reducing the applied voltage (Like MadScientist did by dissipating about half of the 12VDC power in an external resistor) .Other alternatives are to reduce the duty cycle to 50% or less with a few minutes max on time or attach a suitable heat sink. While MadScientist found reliable operation at less than 6 VDC there is no spec and no assurance that other manufacturing batches will also operate reliably. We couldn't touch it, after it was on 15 minutes. I use 2 in my application and both were equally hot. Both were operated in spec witha measured 12.05 VDC on the inputsTo be sure it wasn't wired wrong ( it's not marked) we reversed the leads and it was just as hot after 15 minutes. The coil reads 28 ohms as it should on both of my units, regardless of lead polarity choice Our multi-meter, put across the unit's inputs, shows no evidence of internal protection or polarity diodes. The 3 units I received in 2 separate orders have no polarity markings. There is no terminal marked + or - as is normally required by DC.While it is possible to design DC to be polarity independent, it would be nice to know its OK with either polarity and the red hot case makes you think it must be wired backwards. The package and unit itself do not say it can be hooked either way or show any polarity markings. THIS IS A MAJOR OVERSIGHT

Solid Valve
I recently purchased the DIGITEN DC 12V 1/4" Inlet Feed Water Solenoid Valve Quick Connect, and I'm thrilled with its performance. The valve is a normally closed solenoid valve that turns on the water when the system starts and cuts off the water when the system stops. It's a great way to ensure that the water supply to my approach is adequately controlled and that there are no leaks or overflows. One of the best things about this valve is its quick-connect feature, making installation easy and hassle-free. The valve is designed to work with a DC 12V power supply and has a rated power of 4.8W. It has a working pressure range of 0.02-0.8Mpa and a working temperature range of 32-158℉ (0-70℃).I was initially concerned about the valve becoming hot during use. Still, the product description states that this is a normal and safe phenomenon due to the many coils inside the valve. The highest working temperature of this product reaches 60℃, so it's essential to keep this in mind when using it for long periods.I'm delighted to purchase the DIGITEN DC 12V 1/4" Inlet Feed Water Solenoid Valve Quick Connect. It's a reliable and efficient way to control the water supply to my system, and the quick-connect feature makes installation very easy. I highly recommend this product if you're looking for a high-quality solenoid valve for your water system.
