Although I am personally extremely disappointed in this product now
I quickly read through many reviews and didn't see any that fully explained these (I didn't read ALL in detail, however). Although I am personally extremely disappointed in this product now, I still feel this is an exceptional product and well worth the money. They do exactly what they're supposed to and are very convenient. If you want to turn on/off a few things, they are perfect. I read a couple of reviews that indicated the range was very limited and also read a couple indicating one of the three units was broken. I've purchased 40-50 sets (of 3) of these over the years and have found 2-3 individual units to not work. Considering the price and what they do, I think that's a very acceptable percentage. I've found the range to vary anywhere from 6 feet to 50+. But they are more than adequate for the average person in the average home or business. When the range has been significantly limited, I've noticed this is usually in locations with a lot of other electronic devices (i.e. probably interference and not poor quality). Here's where you need to be careful...Each set is on a separate frequency from the next set. There are a total of 6 separate frequencies (may be 7 or 8). To simplify things, they label the entire set as A, B, C, D, E or F etc. If you buy set A and then order another set of these and receive set C, the new set will control 3 new devices. Which may be exactly what you want. However, if the second set you receive is also set A, this transmitter from the new set will also turn off the receivers from the original set, and vice-versa. Which may be exactly what you want. For example, you may want to order a second set to control three new devices...for a total of 6 different devices being controlled by two different remotes. OR, you may decide you want to have a second remote to control your 3 devices (one on each end of the room, maybe). In this case, you'd then also have an extra set of receivers. The biggest problem is that you don't have any control in which frequencies you're going to receive. If you're just ordering one set...you're fine! It doesn't matter! But if you're ordering a second set, you don't have any way to request the same (or a different frequency). You'll get what you get. Even worse, for someone like me who has been using these as a cheap way to control party lights in various bars/clubs, they've apparently changed the frequencies recently so that the new "A" frequency remotes is not on the same frequency as the previous "A" frequencies. Hopefully that doesn't confuse things...as, again, this is a great product if you're ordering 1 or if you order multiple and you figure how to configure it right (it's not difficult). But if you're trying to accomplish specific things on a larger scale, you may get quite frustrated. These are available at Home Depot around Christmas time, so you can pick the frequency (it's on the package).

These things save time AND money! Well worth the purchase!
These little buggers are great. The remotes range covers my entire 2,300 square foot home, and two at least (that's how many I have) can exist in the same environment and not interfere with each-other. Anyway, the next paragraph to follow covers how it saves energy. The one after covers how it adds value through convenience & time savings.Energy savings: In my office, I have it setup so that it kills all the technology except for my computer itself with one button. No printer on standby, no monitors pulling vampire loads, and the desk fan and all my little adapters get turned off too in one fell swoop. With my kill-a-watt, I found that this alone put a couple bucks back in my pocket every month. I then used one of the other connections to turn all 3 desk lamps on/off at the same time too.In terms of value, as I just touched on, I used to manually turn on all the desk lamps on in my office. Now it's done with the touch of a button, which saves me about 15 seconds each time. Time is money, and that adds up to justify this purchase quite quickly. This newfound convenience also encourages me to turn them off if I'm going to be out of the room for an hour or two, which is all the more savings on the electric bill. Cal me lazy, but I didn't used to do this if I thought I'd be back in the office again later on. Sometimes I'd end up leaving the office lights on all night. Furthermore, I use them to control the lights and fan in our bedroom from the bed itself. Want to spoil yourself? Leave the lights on until you're actually in bed, and then them on before you get out of bed. I then put my bedroom fan on this too. I can control everything in my bedroom without getting out of bed! (Oh , God I sound lazy)One remote to rule them all......or at least each room, that is.

Still going strong
I was searching for a remote control set for my home. I have an old one with 3 separate outlets and it occurred to me that I could use another one in a different part of my home. I was happily surprised to see the very one I have (purchased in 2013) is still selling on good, ol' Amazon.com! This has been one of the best buys I've ever made, and I mean ever! I have never had a problem with this set. It's incredibly easy to set up, the batteries last almost forever (I don't even remember the last time I changed them) and it has traveled with me to several abodes with absolutely no problems. I'm now somewhat disabled and this remote has saved many a bad word from coming out of my mouth. Of course, I'll be purchasing another one but I just wanted to share what a GREAT product this is.

Works for small fountains as well as fairy/christmas tree lights.
These work great and are power rated OK for small motors (such as for a small fountain) which is our main use for them. (To turn off and on a small decorative fountain on a three-season porch to avoid having to moving furniture to plug or unplug it)Remember three things with them - 1) do try to open the remote once a year to check that the battery is OK and not corroding since it will be a bear to open and replace 2) they are somewhat sensitive to humidity, and if the remote or receiver is in a humid environment it may eventually stop working for that reason 3) the battery is somewhat unusual (It is an A23G which is looks like a stubby AA)They come in about 4 different channels (A,B, C, D) so it can be a bit random if you buy 2 sets. Within a set the transmitter will talk to its receivers, but between sets (if one set is A and the other is B) they will not. This can be good or bad depending on your desires. Both receivers and transmitter are marked with small round sticker labels (A, B, C, D) that will identify them. We have had several prior sets for over 5 years and the labels have stayed intact without any special handling on our part, so we have not had problem identifying who goes with whom.
